Top 10 Manga You’d Have Your Son Reading

boa-hancock-by-nekomamire.jpg

Japanese women in their twenties asked what shonen manga they would like to see their prospective sons reading yield up a list with several interesting surprises.

The ranking:

1. Slam Dunk

2. One Piece

3. Doraemon

4. Dragonball

5. Black Jack

6. Touch

7. Fist of the North Star

8. Captain Tsubasa

9. [tie] Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure

10. [tie] Kochikame

The choice of Fist of the North Star is a rather interesting one, particularly with females being questioned, as is the complete absence of titles such as Full Metal Alchemist and Naruto…

First of the North Star, JoJo, DragonballZ - these titles really puts the emphasis on "MAN" within MANga.

    Could it be that Japanese women want their husbands and sons to be more manly? ^^;

I want my kids to read Higurashi.
If possible, without the unnecessary violence scene or with censor.

Wow, Slam Dunk? Parents, reading a sports manga will not make your kid good at sports provided he is not black, but if he is then he won't read anyway.

By the way, there's Slam Dunk mangas in my high school library's reference section, and I'm from Malaysia.

It's funny how censorship works to keep children from reading what officials call "hazardous material".
If you find a "Dragonball" manga in pretty much any school in Australia, it would have all the nudity(or not quite nudity but still erotic material) literally cut out with scissors.

Or otherwise having Bulma defaced with blue pen nipples.

Like have a new batch of useless OPtards is supposed to be better? *facepalm*

I think the fact that One Piece is better than Naruto is making people blind to the fact that OPtards are major elitist faggots, and WAY worse than Narutards these days.

um they arent bad they just defend the series with a passion thats all.

I mean praising something and being able to back it up with essays worth of reasons doesnt necessarily mean its a bad thing.

Atleast OP fans know what they are talking about. so technically they arent retards. Besides narutards are becoming less and less as they begin to explore the wonderful world of manga.

Added note naruto isnt bad its just overrated.

I am more worried about bleach as where it stands I do not see why ppl still have interest in it.

Um yeah, they're exactly that bad.

Jumping on anyone that doesn't worship everything Oda does like a bunch of rabib dogs while claiming that that person is a troll is just patethic.

And OPtards knowing what they're talking about? Laughable..

To them it's OP >>> everything, and that just doesn't make sense. At all.

That said, i love One Piece, but those kinds of tards are just a useless addition to the real fanbase.

    Who's the laughable one?

The fact that i referred to the OPtards as a "useless addition t the REAL fanbase" should've been an indication that i don't label all people who loves One Piece as tards and idiots, as i love the series myself.

    Read, comprehend, then reply dude.

    *stares at the picture*

Which reminds me...Has anyone ever read that bloody hot One Piece futanari of Nico Robin by Rebis..?

I must say, Black Jack is a classy choice. It is chock full of heady human relationship issues and crises and Black Jack overtakes each problem with cool, dandy efficiency. Awesome stuff. Black Jack if you want your son to grow into an awesome dandy.

They don't want their kids to experience disappointment known as post L content.

You know how some parents hide the ending to sad stories? I guess you could remove stuff after L's death and pretend that's the ending.

Fist of the North Star is awesome. It's about manliness, manly feelings, manly emotions and manly tears. There's friendship, there's love, there's pride, there's ambitions, there's everything a man has to know about, except for sex.
But that can wait for when their sons grow up...

Reflects more on their ages than anything. People who grew up in the 90s would tend to gravitate to the popular shows back then such as Slam Dunk, Captain Tsubasa, Dragonball, Kochikame, and Black Jack.

I'm surprised they left out Sailor Moon though. XD

The series is superb, but it has potential to turn your son into a philosopher, thus he will be wise enough to defy every single thing you say.

FMA is too deep and kinda abstract for a shounen, anyway. Arakawa should make it a seinen to begin with.
