I thought it was better this way, I mean I didn't take it serious and laughed when I probably shouldn't have, but it was, for some reason, more enjoyable because of it :P
For this episode i was expecting something damn epic and crazy not such a failure.
Of course it's from my point of vue :)
The "hilarous" side didn't make me laught i was dissapointed.

I seriously thought it was one of the fanmade episodes and the streaming site was screwing with me. Hell, the fanmade episodes can have better quality than this.
I don't know why anyone would complain about this. It's a common animation trick to lower the quality when increasing the speed of the action.
Viz Media also layed off under half their employees recently...I was kinda wondering when the episodes would be effected.
Regardless, I loved it. Check the previous episode as well, Hinata fighting Cowboy Bebop styles ala Spike.

Viz media doesn't animate the show..... it's just a Licensor in the US.
So the lay offs with Viz media have absolutely nothing to do with the quality of this episode.

I laughed even more when Kyuubi Naruto started doing Vegeta's gallet gun fire on Pain, i was in stitches.

I loved this episode. It was like FLCL and was awesome, if a bit odd. I was smiling and laughing the entire way through the episode, which is very uncommon.

Best episode i have ever seen because it made me laugh the most. They added some filler to the fight itself but i couldn't stop laughing, so i still say the manga is much better, the anime is just for the lulz.
What made me laugh was when Pain baseball batted Pain straight into the wall after nailing him into the ground previously. That shit cracked me up.

They had to turn up the animation quite a bit for a climax, and I thought this way was pretty damn nice. Just cause it was 'cartoonish' didn't take away from it.
Also, the second gif reminded me of Kung Fu Hustle, kinda felt like a homage which in turn made that episode epic to me.

I'm pretty sure most of this was on purpose, and honestly, a bit more fun to watch them distort as the moved. To me at least, it gave a greater sense of movement at times.
Also: Funniest battle they've had on Naruto yet.

I agree it was a side of naruto that was renewing, also the battle was epic I don't complain. at least this wasn't a cheap filler battle spread over 5 episodes without a story line, character development, and action
I know this article is about wtf animation quality. However did someone beside me notice that they've brouken few laws in that universe?
Kyuubi touching Orochimaru made Oro burn/evaporate. And his punches were tearing off parts of his body. In the manga Kyuubi never touched pain so it was ok. In anime he punched him several times leaving... no damage? Yes that's it! The most powerful, flamming chakra beast's punch was the same as girl's slap.
Screw that anime. I was considering to stop watching if for quite some time now. This episode made me do it.

Actually a very good ep fight wise, Animation needs to be funded though. (sigh)
What seems to be the case with a few of these episodes is that they let Gainax do the ones that require a LOT of extra animation frames. And in exchange, they do not look that good in freeze frame. I think it's too much to ask Studio Pierrot to have the kind of visual fidelity Bones has for something like Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, which actually has pretty damn good looking free-frame visuals to top with the amazing animation.

I watched USA's Street Fighter Animated Series. Yeah, I've definitely have seen worst.
I couldn't help but cry with laughter when Naruto did a random nuke out of nowhere that Pain stopped. I almost expected everyone watching to pull out those glasses you wear for nuke explosions.
