How did your friends react?

You were in it for the money?

Of course that was a big part, but at the time I was interested in the trade. I love the sensual world. Like an oiran [courtesan] from the Edo period.

Why did you give it up? What are you doing now?

Putting it simply, the agency wanted me to do more self-promotion and it soon became unpleasant for me because of that. I was a minor then [under 20] so I quit on the basis that “adults are really scary.”

At the moment I am employed in guarding my dwelling.

What did your parents think?

Oh, there’s no way they’d know. But maybe they’d suspect… but they have never said anything.

So you’re a hikikomori NEET. But what about other jobs back then – wouldn’t the wages seem pathetically low?

When I was doing the AVs I was also working part time at a shop at night, so I don’t think it matters.

People’s sense of money varies from person to person. If it was a job with easy interpersonal relations even 600 an hour would be fine, I think. But that’s just what I think.

You don’t seem to regret working in the world of AV. So as a security guard for your own residence are you still surviving on what you made then?

Was there a film you made which you have particular confidence in?

No, I do regret it. At one point I regretted it so much I became a wreck. But no matter how much you regret something it doesn’t change the present. Maybe now I feel half regret, half a sense that it was the right thing to so. Maybe that’s just me rationalising it, or maybe I do feel that way, I don’t know.

There is one I have real confidence in. Even I was like “Who is this, she’s so kawaiiiiiiii,” the makeup and lighting was fantastic.

Did you tell your friends you were doing it? The guy with the DVDs, did he notice from watching them?

I was on all these magazines so I guess they saw it there. I was a bitch from the start so people probably weren’t exactly shocked, it was more like “if it’s her it’s no surprise she’s doing it.”

Aren’t there things you’d like to do?

The reason I’m guarding is because human relationships are a real problem for me. Now I study a bit in my masses of spare time, even though I never studied at university.
