K-ON! Houkago Live!! PSP K-ON! Game Fully Unveiled

nakano-azusa-by-pinax.jpg

Gameplay videos of the upcoming PSP game adaptation of K-ON! reveal what had already been strongly suspected – Sega has cunningly recycled Project Diva by switching the music and models for those of K-ON!, a strategy which whilst lacking in originality seems sure to prove a hit amongst undiscriminating K-ON! fans.

The first preview video can be inspected below:

Release is due on the 30th September.

That's really more Parappa the Rapper than Project Diva. Really as rhythm games go, I wouldn't call it a copy at all.

I think a Love Plus adaptation with heroines replaced to K-ON girls would sell better...

With such a cool Azunyan picture at the start, the content kinda lost its meaning in 0.02 seconds.

Fuck this, I wanted an RPG with dating amongst the girls, instrument customization, cake eating minigames and school band face offs.

    That's what I thought, and I actually like K-On.

All the girls are just standing around playing the instruments, while the camera pans a bit. Miku on the other hand would be dancing (different dance for every song), the camera would be crazier, and there was a buttload of different and unique stages. Not to mention all the different costumes Miku could wear. In comparison...this game really doesn't look all that exciting so I'll probably pass on it.

there is nothing spectacular about the game...

during gameplay, they are motionless, no dancing, and it's not like K-On have huge array of cool songs to make up for the lack of entertaining value the game have to offer....even if you can dress them in maid, school swimsuit, etc...it still boring as hell

I... I want to want this, I really do. But, but I cannot. The graphics are meh at best and the girls just stay still and don't do nothing. Ritsu & Tsumugi can be forgiven due to their instruments but still. I've seen enough Guns & Roses concert footage to know that it IS possible to play an instrument and move at the same time. As a K-on fan, I am truly disappointed. Although the Azu-nyan picture is rather epic.

Isn't it just like Guitar Hero for retards? I mean all I do is sit on the couch and press specific buttons at a specific time... it's just one gigantic quick-time event!

At least guitar hero makes you feel like playing an instrument.

It's not like Project Diva was a totally original idea either though. More than likely K-on! fans and Miku fans are the same group anyway. If you played one rhythm/music game, you played them all. That being said, I'd play it.

It's as much quality as K-ON! itself.

Sega did well to recycle tried and true system for this, since making a new one just for another rhythm game would be a waste. Especially that it's based off of a stupid moeblob.

    I'm sold.

Don't know about you people, but I personally am not a fan of Miku or Project Diva at all (don't see Miku's appeal). However, I am a huge fan of rhythm games.

By putting a similar game with characters and songs that I'm familiar with, I'll be able to enjoy a great rhythm game on the PSP.

People who say that this game is 'ripping off' something is really just desperate to find something to bitch about. Besides, one can't have too much of a good thing and copying is the greatest form of flattery after all.

Recycled animations.... of which none are energetic enough to match the characters in the anime.

I like the show for what it is, but this game... I'd rather be good at timing button presses for the crazy FADC combos in SSFIV than timing my button presses to this trash.

There's nothing wrong with being overly passionate about something. But it is wrong for companies to take advantage of your devotion and take all your money. Look at the price of some anime-related goods in japan lately. The more devout the fans are, the more money the companies charge.

Considering that this is a popular series, and many fans wish this show will go on for a long time. I do agree they need to charge a lot but if this game sells well and fan enjoy it that depends on them.

no its called we know they want this, so lets fuck them and fuck them hard.

in america we have a standard for game prices, 60 for console because of reasons i wont go into.

if there wasnt that standard, games like modern warfare would cost over 100$ because they know people will buy it and milk them for what its worth.

in japan they see otaku as a market that will buy whatever they put out because they are desperate. and they rehash old shit and charge fuck tons for it.

its like if there was a bar you like, you go there to drink, and its free for a while, but than once you get hooked on drinking they charge you 10$ a glass for watered down beer.

sadly there is no where else you can get this, and they know they have you by the balls.
