after seeing the dance master, i would say its not that bad...

the concept and method of executing the dance were not as hard as DDR and certainly can be enjoyed by everyone

(although you might not sweat that much since you only need to match one pose/movement for every few secs,
during most of the game section, you can just stand still and not dancing like idiot)

It was on easy mode AND you still get extra points the stupider you look.

I imagine on hardest they will make you do backflips, side kicks, jumps and shit... way to go Microsoft, unlike WiiFit I can actually see people loosing some weight with this! ...as well as some furniture, their televisions, a few bones and if you happen to do it near a window your life ¬¬

Are you kidding me? From someone who does cardiovascular endurence training a couple times a week for an hour, I can tell you that that kind of dancing will break you into a sweat if you attempt to follow it accurately. Alright, you said people won't sweat that much, but I'm telling you you might be surprised at how much you ill sweat.

The thing with Kinect is - every game that uses the Kinect can work with the PS Eye since Kinect is the PS EYE! way to go Microsoft. Keep up producing nice games so that the developers can later port them to PS3.

looks like all you gotta do is dance like an idiot, then when the on-screen silhouette pops out you just have to make sure you look like it.

The point is to follow the model that's dancing as a guide. It'll track other things such as where your hands will be during certain poses and line yourself up to other dance poses. Look at some more gameplay and you'Ll get it.

doesnt look like kinect has to track much since obviously the woman isn't dancing in sync with the game character

sooo in other words you can totally stand still until the figure shows and then do a "seemingly" accurate pose to score....
    fake, total fake
clearly in promo videos the "dancing" players ARE coordinated and not actually interacting with the game

Well, they are playing on the easier levels. It's similar to DDR where easy levels make you do only a few steps while hard levels bust you out on the notes.

Same here. The dancer does the same moves. In easy, you can just focus on doing the poses so you're not really dancing. Harder levels put more moves and actions so that you're moving closer to the dancer.

There's also a Stealth mode where they hide the motions so that the only way to be sure you're hitting them is to mimic the dancer.

If you've done DDR then it's really "how a DDRer learns to dance": do parts of the dance then add more and more till you get it right. Dance Central is more traditional in the learning style: Start with mastering easy steps, then change the moves to make them harder.

The technology can incorpotrate a rag-doll physics in it's games. The fact that they are using prescribed movements which are activated by your movements (similar to pressing buttons) is giveng me a reason to legally hate kinect.

    20:01 17/06/2010 # ! Neutral (0)

ragdoll physics are only half the game.
to accurately reproduce what the dolt in front the screen is doing, you need reliable motion capture with a high capture rate and a little bit of forgiveness for mistakes. which is actually pretty hard to implement...

Wow, I figured more people on here would have recognized the moves. All it is is Para Para Paradise without the arrows. That being said, if you play this on hard you'll get more of a workout than you think. This actually makes me want to get a 360 now.

Did this guy have anyone with a professional dance background help design it? The game itself looks good, but the dance moves too soulless. There appears to be no rhythm, just absurd poses and quick move changes. Now... dumb.

And what's up with the sound track, I heard 90s eurodance music, that's fucking gay! It even features Japan's knockoff eurodance track, Night of Fire, from Initial D. LAME!

Btw, Naoki Maeda is the one of the main guys behind the original DDR. Composing over 30% of the songs (under different nicknames).
He's got some experience in the field :)

So, like, I wonder if Kinect can detect whether or not the user has an erection from the panchira, and whether or not he will be penalized for it.
