Dreamy Theater Preview Quite Impressive

Sega has released a preview of its DLC pseudo-expansion, Project Diva Dreamy Theater, and the results show Miku at her finest yet:

Observant souls may notice a few flashes of Mikupan have been not only preserved, but upgraded with new styles of underwear – how well Sega knows its fanbase.
The usual bemusement at why this was made to require the original and a PSP rather than being a stand-alone release hardly bears repetition at this stage.
Coincidentally, the artist responsible for “The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku,” featured in the preview, has just landed a record deal – it is not hard to see why:

Man, this looks like a visual orgasm. I wouldnt even be able to concentrate the first time because the PS3 graphics would be so distracting.
I'm also super psyched to see what looks like an actual PV for Disappearance of Hatsune Miku, since it was just a slideshow of fanart in the first game (along with a few other songs) Hopefully there wont be any of that fanart nonsense in PD2 either; felt like such a waste of PV opportunity.
But the fact that Sega always seem to neglect Kaito and Meiko in their trailers makes me sad. They're in the game! They even have new costumes in PD2!

I have the PSP version, and a PSP, as well as a ps3. I do have a Japanese PSN account created, but I'm not sure how to buy stuff from the Japanese PSN store. >_>
i want to play this but it seems hard.anyone that has played this,how is it compared to dj max?
This uses just 4 buttons (and only on Harder songs, most of the Easy and Normal ones use just 2), and there are no simultaneous key presses. It rarely uses anything shorter than quarter notes on fast songs. The timing window is also larger than DJ Max's at Hard difficulty setting.
djmax is way more fun and challenging (requires simultaneous presses and really fast hand-eye coordination) not to mention korean songs too...
That's the problem with DJMax or even the Beatmania games. As you get to the harder songs the game becomes more of a hand-eye coordination game instead of a music rhythm game.
They can get that way, but I find I play best at high levels in DJ Max when I still take it one note at a time and just play the song as it should sound in my head. I've actually noticed I press the buttons more accurately sometimes when I crank the speed way up because I don't think I need to take shortcuts like sweeping across the ones that are relatively close together.

Depends on which version of dj max you are talking about really. Classiquai is alot easier than black square for example.
Difficulty-wise, project diva is significantly easier than black square, but probably harder than classiquai. Hopefully the 'very hard' mode in PD2 will correct this.
idk...im barely able to do 6 button mode in any DJ max game and 8 button mode has scarred me for life...
yet in project diva im able to beat all the songs in hard (except 初音ミクの消失)...
As long as I see some explicit Mikupits(tm) exposure, that's all that matters...

You know what this game needs? Subtitles! Just imagine trying to keep track of all the falling shapes while reading the words to the song at the same time!
It does have subtitles.... not that anyone would want to try and read them when they are trying to concentrate on both the game and how moe Miku is at the same time.
That's why it includes the PV mode, where you can just watch the videos without 'playing'.
Love I love it that you could tap the "R" button to take pics on PV mode. all those panchiras.. all you need to do is "Great" the song for it's PV right? Or just Clear it.. I forgot
anyway I loved the Valkyria Chronicles cosplay of Miku, and that black dress she was wearing on the video above. I think you unlock that after finishing Last Night Good Night's challenge. Which is one of my favorite Miku songs by the way :3

Looks great, though they need to figure out how Miku holds her hands while dancing. That's basically the only thing they need to improve. And maybe try releasing in the West?.... Please?....
What's does PSN mean?
I ain't gonna rate ur comment down, since I realized not many know. It means "Playstation Network". For PS3 account regions the Playstation Store contents differ. Most gamers have separate accounts, American, European, Japanese etc.
btw I too have already had a Japanese account. It's even got yen in the wallet ready to be used for this DLC :3 I hunger for this Miku game as much as my PSP does. Can't wait. The original game was already friggin awesome. My mind would just blow up when I finally get my hands on this update~~~~~
btw if anyone knows the answer to my following question please answer.. but would the DLC function on psp's with cfw? Does it require an official version and the Project Diva UMD? or an ISO would work still? Tnx in advance
