Capcom has released some rather impressive looking screenshots of crossover fighting game Marvel vs Capcom 3, the first new title in the series for 10 years:
It is said they are aiming for a “comic book” style, and it shows – the shots may actually be better than the comics on which they are based.
There is of course the unfortunate phenomenon of “pre-release screenshots bordering on fraud” to consider (and Capcom offers up the usual “development shots” disclaimer), but even allowing for this the game looks set to be an impressive reboot for the series.
The game is due in the spring of 2011, for both PS3 and Xbox 360.

Yuck, I don't like the art direction at all. It's a major step down from Street Fighter 4 and Tatsunoko vs Capcom. The characters look like generic plastic renderings. Major disappointment in my opinion.

well...the last thing important on a fighting game is graphic...nice history, nice soundtrack and a good balacing is the major, lol. Because of this, tekken 6 and melty are dominating the popularity in japan even with the release of Super street figther 4...and because of this that even capcom fans prefear third strike to ssf4

This looks really flashy. All those bright colors seem like the game would be dangerous to play if I were an LSD user.
I gotta say, it certainly does have that comic book feel alright. While I'm not a fan of the style, I do have to admit that last screen shot of Ironman and his BFL looks awesome.

That's what I was thinking, maybe not exactly the same but I remember using Megaman back in #2 and surprisingly managed to out-do my friends who used him.

im an old schooler and i think the street fighter 4 incarntions are crap. the character models are ugly(especially the girls) anymore and i doesn't have that old street fighter feel when you first pick it up. i do not approve. i havent seen much for marvel vs capcom the to judge it but based on ss4 it will look much the same.
Sadly the game will use the scrub friendly 3 button configuration of tatsunoko vs capcom.

i do not have high hope on this...
graphic wise is impressive...
but consider how they screw up MvC2 with pile of unlimited combo..i would not have high hope on the balance of this game to make it enjoyable to be played casually without getting pawned by unlimited combo
can't wait. so long as the characters are balanced and they take out some of the clone characters, i'm good. also, Deadpool had been confirmed and Chun-Li is obviously going to be in there from a silhouette. There needs to be a DLC demo soon..,

A) Most 2D Fighter fans are on the PS3/360, NOT the Wii. All the Wii has is TvC and a few ports of PS2 games for their 2D fighter selection.
B) Developing it for the Wii would double the amount of development time and money spent. It's because TvC was on the Wii that it couldn't be ported to the PS3/360.
C) They've already said that MvC3 will have a heavy online component - which is something that requires too much effort and not enough reward on the Wii.
D) The Wii most likely would be completely incapable of handling visuals like this - or at the very least, would have to nerf the tag-team play on account of it being a 3-on-3 game. Remember X-Men vs Street Fighter on PS1? No one wants to experience that again.
All in all, making this for the Wii would be a complete disaster. It's not going to happen. Just because it's the number one console in terms of sales DOES NOT MEAN that you are going to sell more of your game on the system. The audience is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. This is a system where Carnival Games is a top seller.
I'd rather see a PC port, but after what happened to SF4, there is little, if any hope.
I'm still hoping for SSF4PC... technically SF4 was designed for "PC" though, arcade wise anyway. Not exactly a port, but it is pretty lightweight.

Besides, Capcom already gave a VS title for the Wii. Also has ridiculous controls for the mote, not that it's something people would opt to use though. Just wanted to mention it since it's hilarious how they made a 6 button/key fighter be only able to use pretty much one button. It's that dumbed down, just like a lot of Wii controls and games.

just because any noob can pick it up and play, doesn't mean they can be good at it
look at BlazBlue and TvC, noobs don't stand a chance against veterans, but they can still play it well enough to have some fun
