Even the most devout of Evangelion fans are feeling jaded about the official NERV Taimeshi Bento currently being hawked in limited edition form by anime store chain Animate for the princely sum of $15.
For those wondering, Taimeshi is simply rice with minced sea bream, and usually sells for ¥400 or so in large bento format, a far cry from the ¥1300 price NERV rations evidently command. The bento box itself is made out of high quality plastic and also comes with some NERV wooden chopsticks – the height of luxury for otaku diners.
It seems this meal has reached the instrumentality.
“I ate trash yesterday and it didn’t cost me $15”
If the boxes are sturdy, durable and of good quality, then hell yeah I’d buy two of those babies.
Why they still use the old nerv logo?
