Eager MMORPG maniacs awaiting Final Fantasy XIV are aghast at early gameplay footage showing battles as exciting as Final Fantasy XIII is non-linear.
Square Enix were so embarrassed by the videos that they forced YouTube to take them down (the videos had been available for several weeks prior to becoming famous, and strangely they left other less controversial gameplay videos alone); by way of replacement, here are two alternative versions, which should be just as exciting:

This may be a beta, but with release due in 2010, Square Enix will have its work cut out in reforming this in any significant fashion.
