Gainax Unveils “Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt”

I'm really interested by the unusual art style. Experimentation is good.

The art looks like it's taken from Bleedman...

Dismissing it just because it's going to use a different style is very discriminating.

This is why some people who do it for the art/for the sake of doing it find these kinds of discrimination very frustrating. It's like they are being told "You're not allowed to do this and that!" when they are trying to be creative.

I doubt this show can top the questionable stuff the Powerpuff Girls, considering it's a children show(it is, isn't it?), pull off in every episode of their show.

Japanese Directors and Animators if you notice in some of them do watch American Cartoons as well.

It's cute, really. But it looks like any other cartoon made in the U.S. Please, Gainax, don't let your artists degrade themselves so!

As a fan of Power Puff Girls, this acually seems interesting. Stocking looks better to me thru.

Art style reminds me a bit of Dead Leaves, which is always a good thing.

I hate the powerpuff girl style! We prefer anime for a reason!

The names are sort of groan-inducing, but I'm actually sort of interested in the style. It definitely has a kind of PPG-vibe that doesn't do much for me, but perhaps Gainax can swing it in their favor? I'll keep an eye on it.

I can't wait until I see what they do with this. With such a saturated fan base that is full of people limiting creative freedom, it's no wonder the industry has been on a decline. This already looks better than almost all the generic-mass-produced anime that's been plaguing the industry for awhile now(on the basis of looking like a breath of fresh air alone). If the industry embraces these types of new artistic directions, the trend will certainly weed out all of the current generation of fans that are adamant about keeping everything the same way. Kudos to Gainax for always having balls to experiment with creativity.

well, you guys don't understand very well...this is called PUNK and it says: FUCK THE SYSTEM.

I think letting artist do what they want to do makes them create something individual...

this is going to be more like DEAD LEAVES than Power Puff girls but I know that some of the Gainax staff are Power Puff girls fans.

Judging it poorly because the style is cartoony? Way to fuel the cliche recycled bullshit that's plaguing the industry already. I enjoyed Gurren Lagann, but why would I want another show just like it? Good shows aren't made by sticking to what sells.

Im willing to bet it going to be as violent as GOW. These guys made Gurren and before that "DEAD LEAVES" remember that. if not look it up cause it was bloody.

Visual curve balls are always guaranteed to garner attention. Remember Zelda: Wind Waker? I hope this turns out good for Gainax just the same. I'm actually really looking forward to seeing this. My inquisitive mind is going crazy trying to think of what they're going to show us. I totally can't wait!

I'm always ready to check out something new from Gainax. It might be genius, it might be shit, but you just never know what you're going to get from those wacky guys.
And that's a good thing.
