Project Diva 2nd Official MikuMiku PSP

Hatsune Miku fans awaiting the next release of the highly popular rhythmic button mashing game Project Diva have been delighted to hear Sega has announced a special Hatsune Miku themed PSP to be bundled with Project Diva 2.
The Hatsune Miku: Project Diva 2nd Ippai Pack can be had for ¥26,800. This will include a turquoise PSP-3000 (thankfully not the PSP Go), soft pouch, cleaning cloth, and wrist strap and of course, the game itself.
For those already who have a PSP, Sega also have it covered with a Miku theme kit. The kit contains a pouch, UMD case, cleaning cloth, PSP cover, strap, and decorative stickers for ¥3,980.
Not enough? Add another ¥1,980 for a monogram pouch and another strap
Though stylish, fans could be forgiven for hankering after something with a more artistic motif – unfortunately this is Sega quality.
The game and all of these will be released on July 29th – the game itself is already available for international pre-order.

Is it just me, or is the design on the CASE actually better than the one for the PSP they're supposed to be trying to promote?
Doesn't that seem a little bit backwards?
If you were trying to promote one thing over the other, why would you have the design obviously be better on the cheaper one rather than the more costly one? Or wouldn't you, at the very least, have them be similar in design?
Seems like a fail plan to me.
On another note, I do happen to like that case. I may just end up buying it for my psp i have lying around here somewhere, along with a copy of project diva.
Just to see if it's worth all the hype.
I enjoy playing DJ Max Fever,and the J-pop that was in The World Ends with You (both games were the American releases) but still, will it be possible to enjoy this game( and the first game) despite have zero Japanese reading ability? I'm pretty much on the fence regarding this game... maybe I'll wait for the best series version to come out in June, so I get a lower price for the first one...

DO WANT. Though I would prefer white or black buttons instead. Monocrhome is just... ugh.
Sadly, my PSP-2000 is still alive and works perfectly fine. There is no practical reason for me to buy one, not with me needing a new hard drive atm. Practicality does seem to be an alien issue to the Japanese otaku, however. How I envy those miserable bastards.

You can get those straps elsewhere. Hobby Search and AmiAmi for example.

you know i'm tempted but at the same time not really, for one: it's the PSP-3000 series right? I've always like the fat boys better because of the things you could do with it but at the same time it actually feels like you're holding something when you play. the new ones i can see giving you problems with your hands in the future.
for some it may not matter as much but for me i use my hands for my careers as an application developer and musician :P
if it was just for the collectors value i might if i have the spare cash around that time :P
Psp slims are way better than the phat ones. I have big hands and fingers and it does just fine, but slims take care of the issue of bent neck syndrome since you can play them on hdtvs.

This reminds my, my girlfriend told me she had a surprise for me, when I went and visited she showed me a shimapan she bought herself, "You told me you liked this right?". I'm so happy now. (They are not common here, and she bought exactly what I wanted, white with blue stripes).
One could always DIY one using authentic shimapan.
