Code Geass Gaiden “Boukoku no Akito” Announced

The long awaited continuation to Code Geass has finally been announced as taking the form of a new gaiden.
The continuation is entitled コードギアス GAIDEN 亡国のアキト / Code Geass GAIDEN Boukoku no Akito, “The Ruined Land of Akito.”
The show is unsurprisingly to be produced by Sunrise, with the expected CLAMP character design. Direction is said to be by former Sunrise employee and Gundam veteran Kazuki Akane; he is now probably best know for directing Birdy the Mighty.
The announcement itself comes by way of bonus material included with the “Kiseki no Tanjobi” event disc.
The story is vaguely summarised thusly:
a.t.b 2017. A KnightMare unit of 11 youths embark on an operation to save their comrades stranded on the European front, their odds of success only 5%.
Just how this fits in with established canon is not yet clear, but it does appear an entirely new cast will be featuring.

The continent that they're fighting on? Kallens underboob.
I think my interest just went up tenfold after hearing the lack of Kallen that slut.
Maybe Lelouch and CC will apear as side characters.
I hope that the story of the new code geass will end after the timeline of the the second season and show what happens with Lelouch afterwards.
Fuck I wish was good enough to draw my own Code Geass doujin where Lelouch lives and ... that is the only idea I have know.

That's a shame. Code Geass isn't Code Geass without the original cast. It just won't feel the same if Lelouch isn't the main character.

this sounds like a side story, not a real series....
you guys don't get it do yah? its says (Akito of the Ruined Nation). It's set in atb 2017, seven years after the start of the original Code Geass series, so probably 5-6 years after the end of Lelouch's story, and unfortunately the world peace that was supposed to ensue didn't. Europe is in the midst of a big war-- and a small squadron of folks from Area 11 are on a mission that has only a 5% likelihood of success.

my guess is a suzaku story between season 1 and season 2 where he does a mission just after becoming knight seven with couple other members of britannia's knights of the round. dont think they were all introduced and they can def. build on it.
whether lelouch is alive or not, the controversy makes the ending of R2 pretty legendary, so no way they'll mess with it. sunrise would love to keep milking the franchise by hinting at another "season" down the line after whatever this gaiden ends up being.

Bah, is this all? Booooooring! This should be an original series, not a totally unrelated (and generic-sounding) story attempting to cash in on Code Geass' insane name recognition value.
Even if it doesn't have Lelouche in it, it has to have more connection to Code Geass than just being set in the same world. At the very least, geass has to figure in the series somehow.

Well it seems pretty fail from the description... the only thing I'm looking forward too is Suzaku actually dying in this season... dear god I hate that character sooo much i waited 50 episodes for him to abruptly and horribly die in Code Geass...maybe my wish will come true in this season.

I am the first annonymus@20:28 who hates Suzaku. Why? Cuz he is a hypocrit, he is annoying and a liar and a coward! Need more reasons that this? He says he will do alot of stuff but he ends up doing the exact opposite. He killed his father, he betrayed Japan and lalouche and nunally. He fights for what is wrong while saying it is right. He is absolutely the most annoying character in the whole anime. He stops lalouches genius plans how exactly? Suzaku has no special skills, no nothing. Yet he gets alot of favor and gets to pilot the Lancelot(the white mecha) even tho he dosen't deserve it. Why? He has no redeeming qualities.
He stands proud saying he is doing the right thing while obviously doing the WRONG thing.
He did the impossible, ten meter wall run and spin kick in less than a second. Also tsun-gay.

Actually Code Geass is a quite deep story which has lots of hints the casual viewers won't notice. I encourage everyone who thinks lulu died to watch it again and pay attention to the backgroundstories. It's rare nowadays, but Code Geass actually had more than only one story going on. There are obvious hints, like Anon [23:23] mentioned, but there are also lots of difficult to find hints. For startes, sure, Emperor Lelouch dies. That was kind of the idea behind the requiem plan. Didn't mean Lelouch Lamperoug died, though. Only the person on paper that was king for a short while. That's a fact, yes.
People tend to believe what they see, even if the series previously showed, that there are lots of different possibilities. Lelouchs double for starters or C.C being immortal and stuff. Just pay attention and you will notice that everything starts falling into place. Don't be narrow minded.
You're arguing against those who took the show apart, scene for scene, and analyzed every single aspect of every single scene. Those who paid attention to what was shown also grasped what Lelouch's endgame and the Zero Requiem was all about. I encourage you to take your argument to the Animesuki board and you'll see that it doesn't float. Most of the hardcore fans over there are nice though so they'd probably be civil about it even though the cart driver theory is openly laughed upon.

Writers love to do stuff like this. If a person stops acting a certain way or no longer needs to serve a purpose (whether they fulfilled their purpose or not) then they'll describe it as if that person died. Many characters will say "that person is dead" or "I'm no longer that person" when talking about their former selves.

Lelouch touching his sister and the images showed in that moment make it pretty clear, that he had a code. Well, soon we probably get more lelouch anyway so it's wait and see. (They want to make money, which is impossible without lelouch. Do the maths if you can't find the clues from the show.)
@H-Ero: Now that you mention it, there were quite a few stories who used that. Probably lelouch will be some dude totally not looking like him. (We know about the mask his double used, it's easy to conceal his real face.)

Your "FACT 2" is not a fact at all. There are a LOT of facts out there about the ending of the show and every single one of them says he's dead. Do your homework. His fate is not even up for discussion as his death was confirmed over and over again.

It would be awesome for him to have control over his ability again and being immortal. There is lots of epicness that waits to get animated.
