North Star Warriors seems set to enter into the shoddy port hall of fame – some benchmarking tags its load times as 8 seconds on the PS3 versus 62 seconds on the Xbox 360.
The various permutations of install and DLC are summarised below by way of careful investigation:
Xbox360 (DVD) – 44.344
Xbox360 (DVD&DLC) – 61.895
Xbox360 (HDD) – 19.169
Xbox360 (HDD&DLC) – 38.088PS3 (HDD+BD) – 6.822
PS3 (HDD+BD&DLC) – 7.706
The DLC in question is somewhat obligatory.
The major graphical difference is apparently just a brightness change:

Although the Xbox 360 version’s performance may be an irrelevance in Japan, the game is due an international release, so a reverse Bayonetta style fiasco may yet be be in the offing.
360 install is not the same as PS3 install. If this game uses HDD caching, which I assume it does, on the 360, then installing to HDD will actually slow it down.
Access from disc + HDD cache = 2 points of simultaneous read. Installing to HDD = basically dumping entire disc on HDD and then only one drive head trying to access the disc image AND the cache at the same time.
Whereas PS3’s install is a proper install as if it were the HDD cache. Of course the PS3 installed ver is going to be faster. Proper install vs hacked up ‘install’ for 360, pfft.
As someone who’s played both versions, I actually didn’t notice the load time but then again for the 360 ver i was playing it off a USB HDD so… yeah…
*whistle*…
In terms of game quality though, 360 ver has smoother shadows. PS3 ver has far better cutscenes (bluray and all that jazz).
PS3 users had to live with the s♥♥t Bayonetta port. Why don’t you try doing the same with this game all you 360 users?
Wow, way to fail at programing there, Koanmi.
