Leaked release information seems to confirm the existence of an Idolmaster sequel, set for release in early 2011 on the Xbox 360.
The information comes by way of a leaked Microsoft release schedule:
Statements from the official Idolmaster staff blog also hint at “something I can’t tell you about without the higher-ups being upset at me” due “next year.”
Considering the state of the Xbox 360 in Japan at this stage, and the lack of any overseas releases, just what it is which keeps the title loyal to the Xbox can only be guessed at, but given the dedication of Idolmaster fans this seems unlikely to be a problem.
In Japan the 360 is more like an Im@s jukebox than a game console, so might as well
I love you Makoto
Count me in. I am eagerly waiting for this to happen.
360 exclusive? In Japan? Don’t they care about profits?
The Idomaster fanbase is already on the 360, so it wouldn’t sell much more if it were released on the PS3. On top of that, they’d have to spend time and money porting the game engine to the PS3, which wouldn’t be worth the effort for little/no gain.
Ok now which seiyuus do we want to voice on IM@S2?
