Otaku Desperate to Get Hands in Yoshika’s Pockets

A ¥29,400 (approx. $320 USD) Strike Witches branded “Ground Crew Jacket” emblazoned with the 501st’s delightfully moesome Yoshika Miyafuji‘s name recently sold out in about 15 minutes after coming on sale, a sure sign of the emotions welling up during the long wait for the show’s upcoming second season.
The jacket comes via K-Supply, a producer of anime and military themed goods, certainly the perfect blend of seemingly erstwhile market segments given the Strike Witches brand.
Sales of the jacket began at 23:00 (or 11 PM) on the 17th, which was soon followed by 2ch threads started at approximately 20:49 by antagonized otaku complaining of the jacket selling out in about, according to one poster, 13 minutes after going on sale (!)
The actual number of the jackets produced and that were available for sale at K-Supply’s website are unknown, but given the amount of coverage given the jacket on the site it stands to reason more than just a handful were made.

K-Supply’s Japanese-only product page for the jacket is available here, but as with nearly all Japanese language webstores, only domestic orders seem to be accepted, so foreign Strike Witch fans will need to go through some troubles to acquire their own copies of Yoshika’s jacket.

If anyone actually does want to buy it, do a google search for "Japan shopping service" or the like, there are services out there that'll buy this sort of shit on your behalf (or stuff off yahoo auctions or whatever).
I personally use crescent and bid-service for all sorts of shit, but there's a few different ones to look at.

That is a really attractive jacket that would be by no means bad or shameful to wear in public.
Unlike what some anime haters say, there are some very stylish otaku tastes.
And I'd much rather own this than a lot of other otaku merchandise out there. Sadly, I'm a bit too prole to afford it.:<

I have nothing against Miyafuji... but I'd be lying if I don't say Perrine is light years more delicious and deserves more love than Miyafuji. All hail meganeko tsundere loli.

Hmmmm.....
All one needs to (actually) do... is order/acquire the patches, then buy the jacket through another source, like a actual military source, or army surplus, or a military clothing retailer, thus you will have an - "authentic" - flight jacket.
However ~
The patches - alone - would be very worthy of a collection, so two sets of patches would be advisable.
One set for collection purposes and the other set to be sewn on a jacket of choice.

The Yoshika name patch can be made in actual leather with gold lettering as well, and will look - FUCKING KILLER - on the jacket.

I would like to purchase one as well, but I am sure once I got it, I would eventually change/add some things to it, to make it (even) more authentically military.
(my suggestion) was merely an option to those with no access (or are unable) to purchase the Jacket itself.
Possibly make it a project (of sorts) for those who have the time.
If one really wanted to, had the monies to do so, the jacket could be made/bought in real leather, as it was during the WWII period, thus making it even more unique.
(plus) ~ The eventual weathering of the leather jacket by constant use would be a prize in itself as well.

The badges can be made by specialized shops really cheap.
The guy selling those is probably having a huge profit on each sell.
I imagine selling a full leather jacket with those badges for 2000 bucks or more wouldn't be so far fetched...
