Incidentally, a colleague of mine is Chinese, and man-crazy. I'm your stereotypical otaku, so she pays absolutely no attention to me, but even if she did, I'd be pretty suspicious. Seems like wifery in the ol'd Middle Kingdom is fraught with funny business.

This behaviour only exists in China because of bad Western and Japanese cultural influence.

Btw, looks has little to do with marriage...Lot's of times pretty gals are rather seen as romances and men think less attractive women are the better wives and mothers...Espeially if the man has himself a low amount of confidence, having a beautiful wife would make him feel stressed...
A 'simple woman' is much more seen as a good choice for marriage than a more outgoing one...

Though that's just my opinion and experience...
