I don't even think that's a PS1 controller but instead of of those cheapo Chinese NES/SNS on chip things which would have a mechanical switch you might be able to use to to activate an electric match.

Blown way out of proportions. The controller is an initiator device meaning it's not more than a wired switch. You could do the same thing with Ethernet cable.

I'm no expert on the history but I remember hearing about an interesting and very ethically questionable military tactic;

The enemy was dug in and the Chinese army was sent in to invade them. Don't know if it was a new conquest or a rebellion issue later. In any case, the Chinese army would have overwhelmed them eventually, but the cost in lives and time would have been too dear, an oriental "300" in the making. So the commander did this; "You insult us! We do not need as many men as we have brought to defeat you!" and at his signal several thousand soldiers instantly killed themselves. They then attacked a now fleeing enemy and won with hardly any new casualties. The simple math, based on many other battles, he'd have lost far more men than the ones he sacrificed by this trick and it would have taken him months for a conquest that shouldn't have lasted a day.

So, I'm bringing this up to try to say anything good about AmeriKKKa. But I fear I've failed, for no spin, even Faux Noose can spin this right.

The USA probably spent, what, $3 million on that expedition? (counting Halliburton jacking) And the bombs will be replaced by Osama or some other Saudi Arabian royalty who feels like "Exporting Jihad" in the expenditure of 1 penny by comparison... And this time, instead of a bunch of cruddy ancient ordinance and jerry-rigged stuff, they'll get the top of the line from the "Merchants of Death" the USA lets fund the petty dictators.

Just one man's opinion, but IMO it's also like that Osprey thing.

They spend US$60 million to make a working model, fill it full of recruiting poster Marines and lift it up. Due to the "Square Cube" law, it drops like the brick it resembles killing all aboard, so they build another one, change the software a bit, and fill it full....again and again... Now they are pushing them into Iraq to try to justify their expense, but they are also vulnerable to dust... So, nothing but "Vanilla VIP" runs heavily guarded and low enough a fall is survivable. All they are missing is showing videos of this to the insurgents who spend US$3 (or nothing, if a Cluster bomblet gets caught in a tree branch) to build a roadside bomb to kill/maim a dozen troops. "You think you want to kill us? Look how WE want to kill us!" And maybe they'd go; "How can we fight such barbarians?" and just try to convert troops to Islam so they'd desert and form their own "Petty government" and blackmail the USA for the oil, but not be that mean to them.
