Sony has addressed the problem and are trying to fix it instead of leaving it in the current state and have owners address It for them, like a certain other system..
MS fixes the RRoD for free genius. I had mine fixed within a week and it cost me nothing. Sony will put you on hold then charge you for a refurbished ps3.
guess you were lucky anon@11:58. both of my friends that have xboxes had to wait a month and a half just to get the box to ship it in. then another month to get it back. then on top of all that, one of my friends got his face plate stolen by the repairers. he couldn't play his system when he got it back so he had to got buy a new faceplate from gamestop. i don't care for a company that treats you like shit.

You can blame Microsoft for that. The system itself is fine. I've had mine for over three years now without a single problem. And yes, an Xbox can be brought back to life, but Microsoft just wants our money. There are other people who have found out the solution to the RROD.
Well It's pretty obvious, It's too do with the soldering and heat sink in the xbox.. Thats what causes it, the whole xbox is a design flaw :D
yeah. i used to work for their tech supposrt and there's you and about...maybe 10 other ppl that haven't had problems with their 360 in the world.and they don't fix the console, they just send you a refurbished one.

Temp fix your xbox360: keep your virginity intact.
And look up the full procedure before trying to temp fix, it's all over the net though.
Actually Beast, they do know what causes the problem. Faulty x-clamps. You can get a kit to permanently fix it. And you can temp fix it for a week. Wrap in towels, turn on for 30min to overheat, let cool for 20min. It's a well-known solution, as are the kits.
Funny thing is, the problem has already been fixed. My PS3 was hit by the bug but it's fine now. No loss of data or long term problems whatsoever.
