Ocelot was cool when he blew out Big Boss's eye too. I never regarded Liquid Ocelot seriously since technically he is 2 persons in one.

Everyone knows that Bose-Einstein Condensate Snake is the coolest(pun intended).

How more blatantly bias could this get really? Who are they kidding, MARIO second? What the fuck, even if i don't like Snake and i can at least understand why he's number 1, but Mario, just what mushrooms were they smoking. Yes I fucking love Mario, but cool? Fuck no.

No Dante? he's the most badass character ever. They have pick the best character, not the coolest (and even like that i'd have to disagree, there's no way this list has the best characters, maybe Snake and cloud....)

Being able to save the world when you don't ever say any words puts you pretty high up in the list of badassness.

if i had to make just one swap in that list, i would replace pikachu with sonic. i mean, sure, pikachu is cute and such, but not cool by almost any definition of the word. also, what about newer generation game characters?

Each one contributed to the entire "Solid" story in a significant role, but each was badass in their own way, mate.
Solid is no doubt the strongest by this point, and a living WMD if he manages to live that long again (unless it was really cured, don't remember).
Say what you want about Liquid, he WOULD. NOT. DIE. Was it 5 times? Even a fake memory in Ocelot, he was still technically alive.
Solidus did what he could to thwart the Patriots after his "Shadow Moses Incident" was thwarted and failed. Got his ass handed to him, but his actions led to MGS 4 turning out the way it did; Snake & Otacon found that Partiot info very important.
Naked is arguably the coolest, given his history of bad-guy badassery and heroics in 3 and the upcoming game. If I'm not mistaken, he's also the crowd fave (wasn't there a huge survey?)

They all contributed significantly, and each was pretty f-ing cool; it's just that the survivors in the last game have their memories held in a brighter light. Whatever.
Just my opinion, and facts from (bad) memory. 90% of you are gonna tl;dr this anyways.

Can't call it betrayal or self delusion when his delusions were caused by factors not within his control. He has a right to be emo, he got his whole hometown destroyed right before his eyes. His character is much deeper than most, due to it being fleshed out more thoroughly of course.

No, they weren't bitter at all... No, sir.

They just didn't voice it all that often, but they were perhaps worse than Cloud. It amazes me how little analysis people make of these characters.

Barrett was a bitter idiot who led a terrorist group that acted through self serving propaganda (remember the Avalanche ad in Midgar), set explosives to blow up reactors, killing innocents in the process. Yet, he still went to see lil' Marlene.

Tifa was bitter as well, collaborating AND HIDING Avalanche members in her bar. Were they doing the right thing by destroying the reactors? Hard to say. They could have attacked the Shinra building. They DID survive the escape, even though they had 3rd class Soldiers thrown at them... Yet, they went for Al Quaeda tactics.
