Top 10 Most Embarrassing Things Your Girlfriend Does

saber-scoffing-taiyaki.jpg

Japanese men asked to rank the most embarrassing things their girlfriends got up to offer up an interesting selection of presumably not uncommon faux pas.

The ranking:

1. She puts on makeup on the train.

2. She has bad table manners.

3. She brags about past evil deeds.

4. She gets angry at shop assistants who make mistakes.

5. She speaks in a very masculine manner (using ore, omae, etc).

6. She behaves cutely (only) if any men are present.

7. She pretends to know things she doesn’t.

8. She uses a lot of Internet slang.

9. She keeps asking “how old do I look”?

10. She dashes for empty seats on trains or buses.

Astonishingly, the least problematic of the behaviours mentioned was “always wearing highly revealing clothing.”

Agreed. This stuff isn't embarrassing but it is incredibly annoying. I can't stand when I hear girls brag about bad things that they've done (I thought only kids did that to seem cool) and it really gets on my nerves when I hear anyone use internet slang IRL. I would be embarrassed though if my girlfriend always wore revealing clothes but I guess the japanese don't have a problem with that.

A girl bragging about fucked up things she's done in her life is a surefire way to keep me at arms length. I don't want to become another of her stories victims.I wouldn't be too embarrassed about my girlfriend wearing a lot of revealing clothing (if she looks good in them) though . However, if she's my -wife- I'd be slightly annoyed .

Talk about n.3! I was studying together with a rich spoiled girl who was a company's boss daughter for several years.

On the first day we met she told everybody about how she used to harass her older brother, like replacing his business papers for meeting with sticky garbage and burning the original documents or stealing his car keys (her brother moved to US because of her.)
As far as I know she works as a debt collector for a major bank now and is single. Not a surprise.

(Preddy if you're reading this I'm talking about Lena... if you remember her ^^; )

I guess it depends on how much she uses internet slang. Sometimes it can be cute and funny if it's used at the right time, otherwise if it's constant LOL this, O.M.F.G that, no thanks, i'll pass.

LOL isn't the only internet slang that a girl could use. I wouldn't be able to stand it if my girlfriend would say things like "epic win/fail" or "do not want" all the time.

    @ Darkrockslizer

pretty funny story, I lol hard but I feel sorry for the brother. Well at least bad karma works for this little bitch.

On the other hand, there's nothing wrong with #8. using internet slang, think of Konata!

"On the other hand, there's nothing wrong with #8. using internet slang, think of Konata!"

Except Konata is fictional. A girl using internet slang IRL might seem cute at first but the charm wears off fast. If you need proof then look at videos on youtube of weeaboo girls. They use internet slang all the time in their videos.

Well, either it's annoying or emberrassing, both are negative, and displays the fact that you are not content with the given situation.

I guess Japanese people tend to be emberrassed instead of reacting agressive (just look at the so-called "herbivorous" men).

Eh. Girlfriends talking in somewhat masculine manner sounds sexy to me. Tomboys are awesome.

To me, the worst with girls is when they get giggly and extremely passive aggressive that way. Only girls are known to do that in that specific manner..

"Eh. Girlfriends talking in somewhat masculine manner sounds sexy to me. Tomboys are awesome."

Tomboys FTW! Japanese men are too girly to appreciate tomboys.

I'd like to see their boyfriends expressions if they took it a step further and addressed themselves with "ore-sama".

Yeah, this is the only endearing trait on the list, girls using "ore" or "boku" to refer to themselves... Ability to reverse trap is optional...

Yes. I like girls who can be girly, but odd dialects are cool... whether it's masculine speech, or Kansai-ben. (<3 Kansai dialect girls...)

I also know a girl who's used net slang and memes a bunch. She's said things to me like "so i herd u liek mudkips..." or "do you wanna be a neko desu~?" Tragically... she is not a girlfriend, though she did agree to go out with me some time before dropping off the face of the earth for half a year or more.
