Divorce Over Veiled Bride: “She Had a Beard!”

A Sharia court has annulled the marriage of a man who courted and married a woman without ever seeing her face, only to discover during his wedding day kiss that she had a beard and crossed eyes.
The man, an ambassador in his forties, was to marry a doctor in her thirties, but throughout his courting with her he never saw her face as she was wearing a full niqab veil throughout.
When the day of his wedding finally came, he lifted her veil to kiss her but was shocked to find she had facial hair and a squint.
A guest at the wedding witnessed his reaction:
“He was absolutely horrified.
The bride had a nice personality, but there was a good reason why she was hiding her looks behind a veil.
A divorce was inevitable, and the groom went straight to court leaving his new bride in floods of tears.”
He immediately demanded the marriage be annulled, and Islamic courts agreed.
A source familiar with the court proceedings explained how it came to this:
“Every time the couple met, the bride would do her best hide her entire face.
The woman, who is a physician, was very keen to marry him, as she had had very few suitors, even though she’s well into her 30s.”
The man claimed the family sent him pictures of his bride’s more attractive sister.
Although courts accepted that the marriage was fraudulent, they rejected the diplomat’s demands for $130,000 to cover the cost of the lavish ceremony.

When I was working at the bank as a teller, I served a lot of muslim women.
They always had their hijab (or whatever) on to only show their eyes. And DAMN, they looked good...
That is, until you ask them for ID in the form of a driver's license or something and you get to see their REAL face.

Yes they will. As a woman, she is a doctor to FEMALE patients only. No men patients for her. Forbidden. Females don't hide their face from each other--- that is only done when men are around. They won't be any men allowed in the examining or general practicing areas of her practice. The patients' fathers, brothers, and husbands will have to wait in the "common" area.
The doctor herself would talk with the patients male guardians NORMALL without a (full) veil--- but this one probably chose to go the "conservative" route of full veil, and would therefore have a very large and respected following.

I'm actually surprised that this doesn't happen more often. With women wearing opaque tents everywhere they go, one can't be certain that the person inside a perticular tent is an actual woman.
Karma is interpreted in different ways by different people. Many believe it to take effect during life as well.

I say the guy's a dick for leaving her just for looks, and a fool for never looking. The girl may have had reason to hide her face, but she was also deceptive. It sounds like two people who will not find happiness with another until they straighten themselves out first.
If she was moderately good looking and some accident after their marriage made her look hideous, only then would the guy be a dick for leaving her.
Looks are what attract you, but the personality keeps you with them. But if you've never seen them personally before, and even if they have a good personality, if you find out they're hideous, it's harder to love them unless they're family. Like when meeting up with an internet boy/girlfriend.
