Heh, Sousuke is amazing, one of the coolest/most well thought characters i've ever seen, but so is Kyon.
They have no stereotype, they're so unique, I love those two.
true, interestingly enough both kyon and Haruhi landed in 5th. i am also pleased that Hei made it to the list.
The only thing amazing about Sousuke is his thick skull and how he's able to function at all despite that constant PTSD.

I am forced to but my support for Kyon and sousuke being higher... I never got into gundam seed but I'm tempted to take a look now
Kyon felt (and sounded) like every character voiced by Tomokazu Sugita in that '05-'06 run. You can mix around his lines from Shuffle!/Kanon/Haruhi and it makes little difference, he's just every high-school male lead.
Gundam Wing focused mostly on the political aspect of war.
Gundam Seed focuses more on the soldier's PoV of war.
Gundam Seed Destiny is a rip-off of an earlier Gundam series in terms of it's main romantic drama between a character you'll learn to hate for his idiocity, and a woman you'll feel a bit sorry for but ultimately won't care too much about, with the heroes from the previous season stealing the show in the end.
Feel free to skip Destiny.

I second that notion...Kira and Athrun are at least excusable...any Destiny characters would cause a freakin' riot. That said, I loved SEED and all, but I don't know if I would put Kira and Athrun this far up on the list...either way, seems that SEED did something right, and that it had as big of an impression on many people as it had on me.
Would chose Mwu La Flaga over Kira and Athrun by a decade.
