I bout near had a heart-attack when I saw the Nendo version of Azu.
I live in England too, and one problem with buying online is that any goods shipped to England which the value exceed £18, and gift exceeding £36 we could get charged import VAT.
Import VAT (extra 17.5% on top of value of the item and shipping) itself is not much, but whenever there's a Import VAT needed to be paid, the company Royal Mail/ParcelForce will 'kindly' charge us another £8 for normal parcel, £13 for express parcel on top as a thing called 'clearance fee', which is said for cover their expense of 'paying the VAT to Custom on our behalf'...even though their offices is located at the same building as the Custom's office....
To make things worse, they'd hold our parcel ransom. They'd send us a letter request for payment...and the letter with the 'threat' that if we don't pay up within 20 days, they would return the parcel to the sender.
Most big name online shop are register business, so they would not undervalue the declaration of the item being shipped, nor would they label it as a 'gift'.
I can only buy some figma from online ship (since some do not exceed £18 in value). As for the more expensive figures, I would have to buy from sellers on ebay (they would usually unvalue in declaration and/or label it as gift for shipping).
