I got this image many weeks ago. Its great that Noizi Ito can draw more than just saucer-eyed chipmunk-nosed girls (I actually like her normal designs, mind you). Her art style in general has substantially improved over the years, as shown by comparing her illustrations of Shana (old first, new second):

It takes a good artist to be able deviate successfully from and improve on their typical style. Unfortunately, I can't say the same thing about Aoi Nishimata.

Ito-sama has just proved that she's awesome, superior and one of the versatile (at the same time still managed to retain her trademark) artist out there.
They need to fire Nomura and bring in Ito for the next Final Fantasy game.
Assuming FFXIII doesn't sink the franchise to oblivion first.
It won't be that long until she become the next Tony Taka (for his two Shining series) and Urushihara Satoshi (Growlanser series). She has already been working for two NDS rpg for the character designs.
And of those two DS RPGs, one of them IS from the Shining series...
And turn FF into a moe RPG?? no, I don't think so.
