Apparently, securing Azusa locally has turned into a full-fledged-online war among local suppliers and stores due to limited stock available and heavy K-ON licensing.
So, into the battlefield, I marched...
Its not just the Azusa that sold out quick, the other K-On! nendoroids and the Figmas as well dissapeared from pre-orders in mere minutes ^^;
I've still seen this available on some sites so its not a total sellout just yet (though the sites with stock are selling reissues for June).
I honestly don't think this nendoroid is that good at all. I'm not a K-On fan but normally Nendoroids will make me squee a fair bit regardless of the series. This one is rather subpar compared to some of the others available. Or perhaps they just don't have good pics/poses for it.
It's actually really good.
Azunyan nendoroid so popular that the website of the largest figurine online retailer in Japan, AmiAmi, slowed to a crawl while people hammered it to place a preorder.
Actual demand is said to exceed expected demand by 300%, so the producer opened another shipment to calm the otakus who couldn't place a preorder yesterday.
It's good news that the producer is also including another shipment of nendoroids/figmas for the rest of the K-On main cast.
There are better photos out there but the Nyan face, the cat ears (which can be used on other Nendos), the cat Azunyan #2 (which can be put on her head) and posable twintails are what did it for me. Not that I didnt want to complete the set anyway. I think its a great figure and I cant wait to get her on the photo set.
I don't get why people but these kind of merchandize... it's just a blubber of PVC in certain shape and some paint and who I'm kidding, I'm already buying 4 :'3 you're a wise investor Zavy, wise indeed.

Again, I'm definitely one of the minority who prefers accurate cuteness over exaggerated chibi cuteness. Saving up for the Figma and AZONE dolls of the K-On! cast, so I doubt I'll be picking up any Nendos...
