Not just any harem eroge, a very hardcore harem eroge. Most games have 2-3 scenes for 3-5 girls. Koihime Musou (the first game, not ShinKM) has like 2-4 scenes for about 15 girls. (at least that is what the cgset has lead me to believe)
It's impressive that a game with those kinds of numbers has room for a plot worthy of tv.
Well, the developer BaseSon had its story work mostly cut out for it, since it's based on the Three Kingdom story. BaseSon's work is mostly on adding twists to the story characters, like making the famed strategist Koumei the hau-hau loli or giving famed general Choun the double identity of kacho kamen.
What made the eroge Koihime Musou truly impressive is the strong cast of seiyuu BaseSon assembled. However, its strategy gameplay was pathetic (at best) and Sengoku Rance, the Alicesoft eroge who has zero voice acting, easily toppled it in sales number with its superior gameplay.
Can't have both these days...

The first Koihime Musou was very good. The second series (which this is from) was amusing, but seemed to lack a lot of focus as far as the plot was concerned.
