Goojje

goojje.jpg

China’s unique grasp of intellectual property arises once again with “Goojje.”

Doubtless any resemblances to Google are coincidental or the result of foreign copycats stealing Chinese ideas.

Goojje (via Heaven).

I wonder where this'll end. Will they start stealing flags as well? I mean, there's not gonna be a whole lot left to steal soon.

At this point, it might be easier to list things China HASN'T ripped off.

Do they have a state-sponsored Wikipedia yet? If not, they should. It would be a fun read. maybe call it Wokpedia or something.

It is more accurate to say China lent America money. Lots and lots of money. With a federal deficit of 1.35 trillion, that's $4,500 owing from each American (all 300 million of them).

With no visible plan to trim the national debt, it'll be one ugly day when the main creditor China decides it's time to pay up. The economic recession in 2009 will look like a rocky mountain camp trip in comparison.

Yea its gonna be one hell of a day when that happens Inflation in America and a collapse of the Chinese economy since no one is gonna be going to china to get a loan and the money that the creditors get will be worth nothing.

When China asks for their money back, we'll nuke them and completely erase our debt

Doesn't need to get to the nuking stage.

Just getting to the war stage means China effectively loses any hope of recovering anything from the US gov't bonds.

Lending money is easy, getting it back is a whole 'nother story.

It's actually an intentional spoof instead of a true copy-cat or disrespect of intellectual property (at least this time):

    http://blogs.wsj.com/chinarealtime/2010/01/29/in-china-imitation-is-the-sincerest-form-of-flattering-google/

    http://shanghaiist.com/2010/01/28/googles_shanzhai_sister_goojje_pops.php

While Reuters article says that "Goojje began vying with Google on January 14," but it's pretty obvious from the page layouts and the site's manifesto (of sorts) that it has no plans really to vie with anyone. We'd pin it as more of an elaborate performance art piece.

Says the front page of the site, placed right after a list of "hot topics" that include stuff like "Goojje mentioned in foreign news" and "How Goojje appears on brother Baidu and Google," is this statement:

Goojje was born for peace, this internet world has become harmonious because of Goojje's appearance, with Goojje the brothers won't be lonely.

That last bit might make a bit more sense if you're familiar with Chinese internet memes.
