Bayonetta PS3 Port’s Dire Loading Finally Patched

Bayonetta’s pathetic PS3 port has become somewhat less pathetic with the news that Sega has decided to patch in HDD installation, three months after release, and after previously denying that it could fix load times, although the port will still be stuck with comparatively bad graphics.
The patch is to be made available online for the PS3 version on the 28th.

Am I the only one who didn't give a fuck about the loading times?
The game runs smoothly, looks great, and it's fun to play. I don't understand why people have been throwing shitfits just because it takes a couple seconds for the menu to pop up or because it takes 15 seconds to load a level from scratch.
Play Tekken 6 on the PS3 and then try saying you don't give a fuck about loading times.

If the loading times were even across all platforms, nobody would care. But when an inferior port is made on another system, then all hell breaks loose. Considering that a system is a costly investment, I'm not surprised. Who'd want to find out that their port of the game is inferior after already spending hundreds of dollars, and then a further 50-60 dollars on a game only to find out it's not as great as it is on another system?

Sure, the loading-times are annoying but that doesn't take THAT much from the game. If you can't look behind such petty things, that's pretty bad.
Oh, that's a good thing^^ But to be honest, i'm not really annoyed by the loadings in the game. More than a decade ago, psone games were that slow too, and (almost) nobody complained about it...

i dont understand why all games, even if there a multi plat dont get a HD install. it just dosent make any sense to me. devs act like its hard and all a HD install is really good for is taking the information off the disk so it can be accessed faster. im sorry but thats not hard to do its just devs have become very very lazy for this gen of games.
On the flip side, why do all PC games absolutely require an install. Can't some of them just run from the disk? I'm sure they could.
Because when it's installed on a HDD you'll get a lot faster access times than on a DVD. This equals a better performing game without straining memory too much (having to load the items to RAM constantly, with a HDD you can remove a lot of the items from RAM again after use because it can be easily and quickly reloaded from the HDD).

But if you want valid complaints, there's the boring, repetitive character designs, shoehorning first person shooter gameplay into an RPG, short main campaign, predictable and uninteresting plot...

One of the few games I kept my 360 for besides GoW2. ME2 is running nicely on my PC O:-)
360 will still be ahead on a harddisk install unfortunately. The comparison was on an uninstalled 360.
If we're concerned about the relative load times rather then absolute load times, the PS3 version will not have solved the problem.
I didn't actually time it accurately, but i'm confident on 4-6s loads per level.

Her character design is pretty unsightly really.

I think she looks like a pornstar, which I find very unattractive. I've got no problem with sexy looking characters but I can't stand it when they're designed to look like a typical pornstar. I really can't understand how so many guys can say she looks hot when she looks like some plastic whore.

Hmmmm... Thats a real big difference between the Xbox 360 and PS3; however, I don't care about the loading times basically... And I have a PS3, which I use the loading times as 2 or 5 minute breaks to get a beverage, take a leak, etc... etc...

they only claimed improving the graphics is impossible, i think.

i think it's time to get a ps3 now, with the geohot hack out and all. just don't buy a slim, you need otheros support to run the exploit. at least for now.

cool, maybe now the game is worth picking up, that is of course, once it shows up in the bargain bid a few years from now or until they release a "perfect" upgraded version somewhere down the road for the ps3.

If you even made an effort to do Platinum / PP runs, I'm sure the loading times become a pain in the ass considering this game consists of a ton of cutscenes.
For the fortunate few who do not have Bayonetta for PS3, to skip cutscenes, you basically have to pause the game then skip. Sounds simple? It's actually more like:
Loading -> Cutscene begins -> Press Start -> Loading -> Start Menu Appears -> Skip -> More Loading

FAIL, you can skip cutscenes by pressing R2+Select.
You can use R2+Select to skip cutscenes.
Loading -> Cutscene begins -> Press R2+Select -> More Loading
sometimes we play the same chapter for multiple times to farm some money like the case of chapter 11

4 minutes to launch the game on PS3, while only 1 minute on XBOX 360. There's some real fucking problem! The patch is only for correcting the shit?
Can't you fools see the big picture? PS3 cares about the players more. During the loading phrase you can jack off and nut to Bayonetta. Giving the players 100% of enjoyment. Sony cares about its owners and want to give us full pleasure. Hahaha...!

Ah, that would explain why the PS3 doesn't have an install to HD option for all games, unlike the 360!
Bayonetta has the apparently one-handed Very Easy Automatic mode though, so 360 players get a chance to fap as well.
