Anyone watching the episode knew that was coming so I think that had to be blatant. This is more subtle, and it’s just two characters. Didn’t think GAINAX would make references outside their own anime though.

  If I’m not mistaken, the English version of No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise is upgraded from the Japanese Heroes’ Paradise by adding Move controls and such. Red Zone is basically the English Heroes’ Paradise released in Japanese. The nude camera viewer thing was apparently a preorder bonus for Japan.
