Displaying the frighteningly zealous devotion so characteristic of hardcore Haruhi otaku, one such specimen has proudly been displaying his purchase of 30 tickets to see “The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi.”
His commemorative photo:
No extras or specials come with the tickets, just the chance to watch the movie 30 times, or possibly once whilst occupying a whole row.

well, least we know that Haruhi movie grossed something...
Well i'm Just Speechless LOL
Hope he enjoy it to the very bone... \(^0^)/
He's my hero now
He is an hero.
he's selling them on ebay.
to weeaboos in america
I doubt weeaboos in America would care of owning a ticket for a movie from another country, and if they do, then I shall look down upon them while making witty comments about their mother.
Oh, there are. I'm not going to name names, but I have a good example right off the top of my head.
He bought his ticket to an Ass kicking by fellow Otaku fans.
"or possibly once whilst occupying a whole row."
LOL FAT JOKE.
If true, maybe he is so GAY that he wants to masturbate while seeing the movie and the little deviant wants some privacy.
Hah, i kind of understand how he feels, after reading the novel...
Just too good =)
He's one of those guys that like the endless 8 and wants to repeat it with the movie.
the extra tickets other than the 1st 3 are photoshopped isn't it?
endless 30 just doesn't have the same ring to it
I think you are right about the shop. the others just look fake.
The reasoning behind this sort of behavior has always eluded me. Some people buy multiple copies of the same thing despite them providing no substantial difference over one copy. This applies to video games, books, and a host of other things that people normally buy one of. They don't resell it, either. A former flatmate of mine owned four different Gamecubes. He kept them side-by-side, but only ever used one of them - his precious Panasonic Gamecube. In a decision which was very unbecoming of him, he decided to leave one for me as a parting gift when he moved out, leaving his extra copies of Resident Evil 4, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes with it.
I already had a Wii at the time.
One for use, one for keepsake, one for lending, etc.
Thank god someone else knows the correct reason :D
They guy saw that 3 Nanoha tickets give you a movie cel and thought he could get 10 Haruhi cels... ^_^
One for cleaning ur ass after a crap
I think you flatmate was using those game cubes for parallel computing, probably to hack servers or simulate a plan for conquering the world. If not then I don't understand him either. If you have enough PS3's you can build your own supercomputer.
Having seen a cluster of PS3s running calculations, it is really nothing to sneeze at. Cell processor was really intended to be use for blade servers. That's where the PS3 truly shines and so much more than just a game console.
The principle of decreasing marginal benefit does not apply to otaku.
Wow, did he do the same with girlfriends (if he had them)?
No sarcasm intended.
Wouldn't you get bored of any movie after the 5th time?
Although this could be a good chance for profit by reselling the extra 20 something tickets for double the price given how idiotic otakus can be with money.
A real fanboy would have bought an entire showing so he could watch it with his army of Haruhi series themed body pillows, blow up dolls, figures, and dutch wives. I am disappoint Japan.
what an idiot
He's not an idiot, He buy 30 tickets just in case when people buy all the the tickets, the 29 remaining tickets will cost lot more when u sell ^^
We both know he didn't buy them for THAT reason...
Nope, we don't, you might assume so, but you can't know something when you don't know someone.
Suffice to say that it's illegal. If he really bought them to sold them though, I wouldn't be able to comprehend his stupidity level anymore, as it would have gone to exist to the 5th dimension. 3 minutes and 2chan would make burgers from his ass.
Anon 9:20. What the fuck are you saying, and try saying it in English this time.
the real reason is use for toilet paper ??
If he likes the movie, he'll keep all the tickets.
If he thinks it was mediocre, he'll sell them.
I he hates the movie, he'll either wipe his butt with them, or save them for later to be ripped to pieces along with some other Haruhi merchandise. =P
Then he'll post the destruction on 2chan.
...Then it will wind up on Sankaku.
and the circle of life is completed
I work at a movie theater (in Las Vegas) and I've seen the same thing happen for the Twilight movies and Sex and the City. Though not entirely uncommon, those diehard fans are not a pretty sight.
Maybe he has a 29 girlfriend harem?
I would like to think that is the case of this legend.
Ha, I see what you did there.
Maybe he has a 29 Dakimakura harem?
Thanks for spoiling it.
further explains it tho
Still impressive though
hijo de puta, asi dejarás con la intriga a 29 personas
agreed.
I thought it so now I'll say it
HUH?!
Ah... so those 12000 dvd sales of each E8 volume were actually just 400 people? Not all hope is lost for mankind.
He bought so many tickets so he can make it endless thirty.
Yeah. Endless eight took away his sanity...
That already has a general affect on the rest of us...
yeah or he‘s just a greedy fucker that took 29 extra tickets so other people wont be able to watch it
A very painful version of E8 indeed.
