    Mate, engineering, not science.

Scientist discovers stuff. Engineers use the stuff to solve "problems"...

Engineering another word for "applied science".

Seriously, what kind of engineer has not yet devised a method to make his creations spy-proof?

Not this crap again. This is not /. and we certainly don't care about scientists and engineers or about copyright laws or about how small your userid is.

Hmmm... You seem to forget that some discoveries and studies were done and advanced by engineers. Aeronautics is a good example. They created wind tunnels to test how fluids passing by a plane react, turbulences and the like.

Engineering is the application of physical sciences. Of what use is Physics when you can't apply it? Other than discovering facts of the universe that surrounds us, if you can't use what you know, it's meaningless.

That computer you are using to browse this site is in your hands because a bunch of electronics engineers and many other experts in different disciplines worked top develop the components.

So yes, engineering is like the oompa loompas, but certainly NOT its slow sister.

We'll need face artists like the one in Ghost in The Shell to make these a viable product.

Even if they become more realistic in the near future, I'm willing to wait 15 years and dish out tons of cash for a premium model.

1st sex robot? The Germans (First-Androids) made the 1st one several years ago called "Loly" , a 3/4 scale 4' tall silicone doll with self heating & audio voice that actually humps ya for not much more than the asking price for the above thing.

"...Inside now only one engine for more movements like hipmotion and blowjob. If you change the positions, you can use different kind of movements. The speed or amplitude are justable and its a harmonic move. If you hold the android in your hand, you think its a real girl. In the future a lot of realistic positions will be possible. I not delete the audio, so you can hear the real voice."

They did research on the specifications of the female by watching porn. I guess that's why the face is so... yahhhhh. Porn actresses don't exactly look like idols.

@basilio: But i can still think of like, a billion porn actresses that look better than this brick! I dont get why they skimped on the face this much. Like come on! Anyway, as soon as people like OrientIndustries (http://www.orient-doll.com/rosa/ and http://www.dannychoo.com/post/en/940/New+Candy+Girls/ [http://www.dannychoo.com/post/en/940/New Candy Girls/]) gets ahold of this and integrates their CandyGirls with this, it will be pretty awesome. Until then, I'll stick with 2D and at most, the requested 2ch anime version.

And when they combine the technology, as in customizible personalities (read: your fav anime character) and nicer faces (read: not the Sylvester Stallone shit in this article), they'll make a fortune.

Being a tad bit serious, I'm kinda worried that machines are getting more personalities. Maybe it'll become Terminator! :V

Btw, I just read "Rocky". Are they planning to develop THAT Rocky as a doll?

Wouldn't it just be cheaper to pay some girl to dress how you want, and then actually fuck something real, like a cosplay whore?

Just think of the repairs for that sexbot, not to mention it's absolute lack of appeal.

*backtracks* Though this is in 3d, isn't there a conflict of interest here for everyone? Sure, robot=cool....but it's not 2d anymore gaiz *gasps*

Uhhh... Paying... And what about STDs? I'd prefer to convince a girl to dress up instead...

This is a prototype, more like a proof of concept, I think. If they get a good builder, it's very likely the production line model would be better looking.

And no, not everyone here vomits at 3D here. I, for one, love 3D.

Judicious use of commas could make it work either way, Mr. Pedantic.

Grammar is like a pet raptor. It's fun to show off, but if you are not careful, it'll bite you in the ass.

light year is not a measure of time, but distance, so 'different from any other year time-wise' is a bit misleading.

The male version "Rocky" is set to be modeled after Mr. Ed... and Ed is not an acronym for Erectile Dysfunction in this case. On that note, the brick in Roxxxy's face has been moved to a more appropriate location.
