I doubt that a new geass anime would have the same success if they didn't include Lelouch. Either Lelouch lived or they'll start over from the beginning.

He had fucking immortal Geass activated, and he was the fucking cart driver. Lelouch can easily be alive with just a bit of creativity.

Knowing anime for being anime, such a thing is easy to accomplish. It's not really a matter of whether or not he died, but how they manipulate the story to make him on or the other.

The anime show him dead, don't make your own storyline..

They also made you think Lelouch killed Charles at first but then he used the immortal Geass, and that Lelouch's mother was dead and gone...when she wasn't, just saying but if they wanted to make it so Lelouch was alive they could EASILY do so.

Lelouch died. If he didn't, well, he didn't come back. There's a picture book series somewhere on Youtube showing a conclusion with everyone at the school.

I rly hope that they will continue this storyline instead of creating a new one in an other time or place or whatever :/
I'm interpretating the end in the way that Lelouch has become immortal because of using his Geass to often so he should be still alive (shown as the cart driver).

It isn't really that hard to fake your death with the right preparations and people helping you. You can even use a chemical to slow your heart to imperceptible levels and make you look dead but can be revived later. Everything to do with his death could have been faked and his sister wouldn't even know.

The thing is, they can't retcon R2's ending so that Lelouch never died; it'd undo the whole point of the series. However, wouldn't it be interesting if he was resurrected from the dead against his will by someone using a new Geass? He'd actually be ANGRY about it for ruining his sacrifice!

Anon 23:59 has it right. He could have shoved his soul into somebody else right before dying just like his mother did (just in case somebody did vital checks on his body after the act).

The way CC mentioned Lelouch's name was very reminiscent of the way she spoke to Lelouch's mother during the series.

This way he might not be able to come back as Lelouch but pull the strings of the other characters as a completely new person. I bet he is inside Nunally's body.

If his sister had died I would have no doubts he would have killed himself, but I see no reasons for him to do so otherwise when there are hundreds of ways of faking his dead for the same effect (even without "magic").

Not Taniguichi (the director) who is in charge of this new project.

It is quite possible that Okouchi considers Lelouch dead, but Taniguichi and Sunrise/Bandai don't.

Never underestimate Sunrise when it comes to milking the proverbial cash cow.

I say its 50/50 whether Lelouch is alive or not due to all the artwork, announcements, etc. throughout 2009 by Sunrsie and co.
