Eating a caek with a monitor screen is not good. I would be spending more time on the food rather than the screen. By the time I remember about the screen, it hibernates

To each his or her own form of happiness. As children we have imaginary friends; as adult otakus we have waifus & whatever the otaku equivalent of husbands are called.

For all those people complaining about family being a pain in the neck: Just pretend you're actually starring in your very own anime in the vein of Urusei Yatsura or Ranma or any of the other anime where the main setting is home and the supporting characters are family, relatives, & neighbors. You're being subjected to the same types of inconveniences, just not at the extreme level of most anime.

For those complaining of no girlfriends or sex, there's always prostitutes. If you've got the money or drugs, they've got the time. At least until someone gets the bright idea of starting hostess bars outside of Japan (or whatever you call those places Dream C Club is based on). And of course there should be a version of such a business for the minor crowd (parents will openly object while secretly sending their daughters to work there).

You think your family and relatives are an inconvenience? The feeling is probably mutual, as they most likely consider you to be a creepy bastard who they fear is going to try to feel up their four year old.

And most of these pictures were done as gags before they went out to party with their local Otaku mates.

I always wonder why all those otaku don't organize themselfes and meet up somewhere. At least they would be in good company and surely have lots of stuff to talk about. I mean, they all more or less share the same hobby.

They do. That's why most of them aren't depressed and suicidal.

It's the Otaku or Anime Fans that don't know anyone else that shares their passion whom do things like this.

#022 - sorry dude, you are a real loser. Is that the best effort you can make? Even a 2D girlfriend will drop you for something that shabby.

4chan's /a/ and /jp/ also had a few threads about this sorta thing. Out of those threads came this, a compilation of the pictures posted in the thread. I think all of them are confirmed to be new, so no recycled ones from last year.

Yes, why is it that they choose to be alone with their stupid screenshots? Don't they have family? Mother, father, siblings... idiocy.

Also I find it funny that in order to get the right screenshot they'd have to play through some part of the game and the characters would be on about stuff which has absolutely nothing to do with christmas haha

this is pretty sad, for real.

I'd rather spend my christmas with my mom before doing something like this.

I dont plan on getting married, so i'm sure in the future i'll be crashing on one of my brothers (got a little bro and 2 big sis) house with my mom for christmas eve

^^^ this I agree but - I spent my xmas with my family and fucking hated it, nagging the shit out of me. I was cool when it was just me and my immediate family every year but then we went to my grandmas with relatives this year, wanted to punch half of them in the face.

maybe I should give this a go next xmas.

Dude. That sounds like a decent family christmas. There's actually a large family and you're actually doing things.

For me I just sat at the table with my parents. We stared at each other for a few minutes going "Yay... It's Christmas. Woohoo" but the feeling completely wasn't there.

The most boring, and lonely, Christmas ever. We exchanged cheap gifts and I left, at 3pm, to wallow in the Hilton Hotel Bar.

You should put more effort into it then. Bring a game or something.. these ronery otaku take the time to get food and dolls and crap together.. that's doing something at least.

Doing all those crazy shit shows that you have a crazy passion. A simple picture in a screen shows you don't really bother very much.
    BTW what is OEG blog?

Otakuism has nothing to do with number of figures or screens. It's about the passion and drive. Haven't you been visiting the OEG blog at all?

I don't get it. For the most of them it's just a picture on the screen and some food. So if i make something to eat while watching Railgun and suddenly pause the screen for some reason am suddenly having a picture moment as a fanatic Otaku?
The only real Otaku's are those with many screens with girls, figures along side the food and an anime girl cake along with the other food.
