To each his or her own form of happiness. As children we have imaginary friends; as adult otakus we have waifus & whatever the otaku equivalent of husbands are called.

For all those people complaining about family being a pain in the neck: Just pretend you're actually starring in your very own anime in the vein of Urusei Yatsura or Ranma or any of the other anime where the main setting is home and the supporting characters are family, relatives, & neighbors. You're being subjected to the same types of inconveniences, just not at the extreme level of most anime.

For those complaining of no girlfriends or sex, there's always prostitutes. If you've got the money or drugs, they've got the time. At least until someone gets the bright idea of starting hostess bars outside of Japan (or whatever you call those places Dream C Club is based on). And of course there should be a version of such a business for the minor crowd (parents will openly object while secretly sending their daughters to work there).

I always wonder why all those otaku don't organize themselfes and meet up somewhere. At least they would be in good company and surely have lots of stuff to talk about. I mean, they all more or less share the same hobby.

sadly that is how i spent my x mas as well. after my ex broke up with me, i think being otaku is not so bad, well aside from not getting puss that is. that is when the hand and a wild imagination comes in haha.
