I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body, Fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to life, nor known to death
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works!

    You switched "life" and "death."

    For shame.

I am the bone of my essay,
Procrastination is my body and caffeine is my blood,
I have ignored over a thousand deadlines,
Unknown to MLA format, nor known to passing grades,
Have withstood responsibility to fail many classes,
Yet those classes will never teach anything
    So as I hand in,
    UNLIMITED ESSAY WORKS

    Here's another one, for pirates!

"I am the leg of my boot
Ctrl+ C is my body and
Crtl + V is my blood
I have violated over a thousand copyrights
    unknown to decency
    nor known to shame
have withstood lawsuits to steal many works.
yet, these hands will never pay for anything.
    So as I pirate
    Unlimited Ripoff works"

For all you unhappy fags, here's the original. Cuntpasted in all it's glory

Put it through a machine translator and this is what you get!
The body consists of the sword.
Blood is iron and the mind is the glass.
Some [tabino] battlefield is exceeded and no defeats.
The retreat is not, and is never understood for free for free. never
His person always revels in one's victory in the hill of the one person sword.
Therefore, it is not significant to the life.
The body consisted surely of the sword.

    Arent machine translators adorable?

The machine isn't totally wrong. That is what the original Japanese version says. The English one was made specifically to be different than the original.

I specifically remember in both the jap vers of fate/stay ubw, and in the anime, the whole poem was in english. So what "original vers" are we talking about?

    Archer's incantation:

I am the bone of my sword.
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood.
I have created over a thousand blades.
    Unknown to death.
    Nor known to life.
Have withstood pain to create many weapons.
Yet, those hands will never hold anything.
So as I pray, "Unlimited Blade Works."

    Shirou's Incantation:

I am the bone of my sword.
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood.
I've created over a thousand blades.
    Unaware of loss.
    Nor aware of gain
Withstood pain to create many weapons.
    Waiting for one's arrival
I have no regrets. This is the only path.
My whole life was "Unlimited blade works"

It makes perfect sense, especially if you've played the game. I'm guessing you just haven't been paying attention. First off:

    SPOILERS!

    Ahem. Now that that's out of the way;
Shirou/Archer (I'm guessing everybody knows this, but what the heck, I'l still mention it: they are the same person.) use projection magic that is different from normal projection magic. Instead of projecting using materials from the world around them, they use their own body for material (the blood and bone), and Shirou is also unable to draw upon the vast mana of the world, and can only use his own body mana. While this may be somewhat different for Archer (I don't know), Rin mentions that Shirou seemingly projects from nothing, which is completely unheard of in the world of magi, and she later also say that he can only do this because he does not care about himself whatsoever, he only cares for others (Shirou offcourse protests, but I believe her). In Archer's case, there's also the fact that he, as Shirou, became a hero of justice through a miracle, but was forced to kill people in order to preserve peace, for all eternity, which offcourse he hates, and this eventually makes him the cynical guy we know as Archer. He is unable to escape from it, and doesn't gain anything from it. He also cannot die, since as a Heroic Spirit, he is removed from the regular flow of time, and circle of death and rebirth.

In other words, read the two passages again now while keeping all of what I just said in mind. Do you see? It makes perfect sense :-) ;The poem is about using their own body to create weapons for all eternity, which is basically all they do (in Archer's case anyway). That and fighting. And it also has the part of never being able to gain anything, and not being able to escape, or die. Also, finally, I'd like to say, the poem is NOT lame! It's awesome! ;-/

I'm happy they picked UBW instead of Heavens feel. Its a hell of a lot less depressing and we get plenty of Rin goodness.

There is no person in this world that can make Heaven's Feel in only a movie. Maybe in 6 or 8 hours there would be something good to see.

By the way, HF rocks, UBW is good but the plot is deeper in HF and that makes it damn good.

Agreed. I like the action in UBW better, and all the Rin goodness, but HF is defenitely vastly superior in terms of plot. It's really deep and captivating. And as you said, putting all of HF into just a movie can never turn out good, period. I'm actually worried enough as it is about squeezing all of UBW into a movie....

You guys, I have a question to ask of you:

SO, I have never quite gotten around to watching Fate/Stay Night. I see that this movie is coming out, which is supposed to be a remake of the anime (?). Should I not watch the anime and instead wait for this, or should I watch both?

    Comment by Anonymous
    11:09 16/12/2009 # ! Neutral (0)

Technically, its not a "remake." Its a different plot-line (aka alternate universe). You should watch or read Fate/Stay Night (Fate Scenario) to understand the characters.

Why not watch both? Then you can make your own judgment on which is better. Always good to sample everything and see what you like best.

This has nothing to do with the Fate/Stay Night anime.

Both the anime series and this movie are based on two separate paths of the Fate/Stay Night visual-novel. The anime series (poorly) followed the Fate path in which Saber is the main heroine, and this movie will follow the Unlimited Blade Works path in which Rin is the main heroine.

F/SN anime was mainly various scenes from the visual novel. It was a good start to get people to play the VN though. What you Should do is play the VN, absorb all the goodness of it till you get Rin end, play it again, then watch movie.

Saber doesn't have the awesome personality that Rin has, and no, she's not "more hot" (poor grammar. Should have been "Saber is hotter"). She's hot, but Rin is better.

It's not a remake, and it has very little to do with the shitty F/SN anime.

Play the visual-novel. Shit bricks. Fap to Saber.
