K-ON! Schoolgirls No More?

The girls of K-ON! look set to graduate from high school and begin attending university, an arrangement which avoids eternal schoolgirl status but also robs them of one of their key moe credentials.
This suggests the girls may attend university together, though the extent of any such storyline is not clear, and whether the manga will give rise to any further anime even less so.
Fans of generic moe blob anime and manga will no doubt notice a strong parallel between K-ON! and Lucky Star, which also had its girls graduate from high school…

So the manga is still in full bloom? When is S2 coming out?
Not that i could stand to watch that empty moe fanservice crap past episode 6.
I also wonder about that with Lucky Star. In manga they've graduated. But in the latest manga, it looks like they still wear their sailor uniform. Anyone can explain?
The whole thing turned out to be a dream Konata was having. She wakes up and everything goes back to normal.
(Not a troll)
fuck college girls, too old for my taste
college means bigger breasts & mature sex xD
then FUCK YEAH!!!
College girls also mean a lot of 'experimentation' between gal-friends without the risk of being arrested for underage stuff.
>fuck college girls
Don't mind if I do.
in manga vol.7 they really are graduate n go to univ.
most of the time they gather in someone room,n do the usual chit chat. not much change in the story thou,n sumtime they appear as a high school student too
oh shi-
I don't see how the empty fanservice after episode 6 differed from the empty fanservice throughout the whole series. I enjoyed it as whole.
Was there anything but fanservice, anyway?
there was damn good music.
there was some drawing style that has become so popular that every successive anime is now dying to imitate it
Them attending university is something I'd definitely like to see.
What about Azusa, I wonder? It looks as though she'll be alone (for a year at least).
She still has Ui.
And that fatty friend of theirs, whatshername?
I, too, would like to see them in university.
I lol'd
I liked K-on but have little desire to see more anime, Lucky Star however.........PLEASE MORE!!!
True; I won't stop demanding for more Lucky Star anime until I see more Misao and Hiyorin.
Agree
More Lucky Star? You're kidding, right?
The show (like K-ON) has run out of highschool. The 4koma never went that far, making a season 2 all filler.
All filler means even more episodes where they do nothing but discuss the proper way to eat some type of food, insert really obvious seiyuu jokes, and overall be really boring.
The "cute girls do cute things while nothing important happens" formula does not work in an after-highschool setting. Unless you want Lucky Star in the City. guuhhhhhhhhk
TL;DR Lucky Star 2 sounds like the worst idea ever.
I totally agre with u,lucky star was boring as hell, I don't really understand why is too popular
Lucky Star is popular for the following reasons:
1. It follows a very moe formula. The girls are cute and the actions are cute.
2. It reminds some anime otaku's of their own highschool days. Hanging out with your friends and talking about random things. Even if your the biggest otaku in the group, you still lived life with your friends, and many people found a connection because of that.
3. Adding on to my last statement. The series starts off with the girls talking together about normal and random things friends tend to simply talk about. The camera sets you up as if you are sitting with them silently. So after a few episodes a feeling of friendship between the watcher/reader and the characters start to form.
4. Konata really catches the mind of the anime otaku well. Their is a certain filter in her head that takes every normal things she hears, and then she relates it to anime naturally. This sensations makes Otaku's think (oh I so totally do that) when she blurts out something that doesn't make since to her friends right away, until you relate what she said to anime.
5. The entire show brilliantly creates a psychological attachment to the characters via, listening in on their trivial conversations, and the anime fan's feelings of relating to Konata's antics. People tend to love the characters because in a short period of time, they feel like they are more your classmates then animated characters.
This makes it an awesome piece of fiction that successfully makes the viewers happy to watch it. (putting Lucky Star at #1 on my favorite anime lists)
(also Lucky Channel is just too funny ^_^
KyoAni will milk it like they did Haruhi and people will lap it up. Of course Haruhi got much worse, whereas K-On! and Lucky Star were shit to begin with.
I guarantee a new anime series of both.
Nah. If LS can make use of Soujiro and Nanako-sensei (eg; those parts where she got drunk and overslept for 2 days and how she got all her long blog entry she typed wiped out due to server error) scenes as interesting skits, there's exactly no doubt they'll animate the girls' daily life as an adult or college student.
To Chris: Lucky Star is good BECAUSE nothing happens you moron! -_-
"...robs them of one of their key moe credentials."
As long thy don't touch or change any of their personalities while creating more music for album sake, I'm cool with that.
I'm pro-K-ON and you can defame this post if you hated the sound of "Moe..Moe..KYUN!" ringing in ur head...
Agreed, a season 2 of K-on would be nice but I much rather see a season 2 of Lucky Star instead.
I'd like to see more FMP too, the novels get really awesome later on (presuming they don't waste the enitre series on very merry christmas)
if those moe rockers start rockin' seriously like the guys of BECK do, i'll set my eyes on the continuation
Krauser will rape em later
I slap you mutherfucker
AHAHAHHAA i can totally see that
LONG LIVE KRAUSER II!
Can't rape the willing.
shud anime lucky star cast going to uni rather than k-on.... cant picture miyuki and tsukasa going to the same uni tho...
While most (that type of) people tend to call Lucky Star and K-ON! as unrealistic slice of life comedy series, I have to say; one thing that I found impressive about these two (as well some others out there) is that the characters actually grow up through out the series.
Other than that, being university students actually won't make them loosing any Moe-ness. Look at Hachimitsu No Clover for example, Hagu is an extreme generator of love :3
"Includes all items on 'moe' checklist" does not necessarily imply "character is attractive or interesting".
"K-On!" and "Lucky Star" (especially the "Lucky Channel" segments) were mildly amusing and sometimes funny. But they didn't cause the viewer (at least, not me) to actually care about the characters.
"Honey and Clover" did. I thought Yamaada was far more attractive than Hagu, but child-looking-females turn me off.
Death to Moe.
amen
Death to you, losers.
No, it didn't. Fag.
Dude, did I even say anything about this and that character is interesting than the others or something that implies that LS and K-on characters CERTAINLY top over the others? And how can you even be 100% sure that viewers (beside you) didn't care about the characters from those two former series just like they did with H&C?
Oh well, then again it's all just about opinions..
the gist of drama show like H&C is to make the audiences feel touched with the twisted romance and conflict. as for k-ON and LS, it's just either make you laugh (or 'moe overdose' as Konata's father said) to death or make you bored to death.
I really can't see K-ON or LS season 2 becoming like H&C...
Wait whut? Did you guys actually believe and demand LS to turn into a life drama anime like H&C? I can understand it on K-on but as for LS; it's already obvious since the birth of the first page of the manga that it will be a a series of random skits depicting ppl's normal daily life. Crying out for the lack of depths and tear jerking twists in that show is seriously just.. pointless.
I guess we should blame LS itself for not presenting a "This show is nothing but just about the average life of three sisters.." Warning note at the beginning of the series like what Minami-ke did, eh?
what is this i don't even?
Nothing wrong with some variety in wardrobe, why anyone would ditch this series or any other series due to lack of sailor uniforms means they obviously didn't read the manga for the characters or the story.
Moe can exist without sailor uniforms......I think?
Everybody knows Collage/University is a place to experiment.
"if you know what I mean"
right? right?
