60% of Japanese Women “Turning Into Men”

60% of Japanese women questioned in a recent survey report “turning into men,” with 70% reporting “there are men more feminine than I am around me” and 94% “I’d like to become more womanly.”
The survey, covering unmarried Japanese women aged 25-35, also found some other vaguely masculine traits, with 32% at times wanting “a wife or secretary” themselves, and 42% liking to drink alone.
Even more tellingly, 69% said they were conscious of being insufficiently womanly.
Just how this can be reconciled with a male population apparently displaying the opposite tendency is not clear…

it's not unexpected as gender roles are seen as more and more outdated. though there's still the societal pressure to "masculine" or "feminine," people are natural just saying "to hell with it" and acting as they would like. it's a good thing really.

Being normal is behaving like what everyone else do. Majority of women are feminine, if you are a woman and you are not feminine, you are probably abnormal.
I think that's how the world is right now. And things like equality between men and women, probably won't exist, at least not soon since you can see how the world is. People always have the mind set of protecting the women. Well, how about the men. Not saying that men need protection or women need it but those way of thinking will make everyone, well, most people, think that women are weaker and shit like that. (I'm kinda of topic XD)

I want to see a decrease in those statistics saying women want wealthier men. Remember, you're not a real man of a woman until you're a breadwinner. And a deadbeat mom is just by far unacceptable.
Honestly, the ideal for me would again, for them to become MORE manly. To the point there are no gender roles in money. And women are no more likely to want wealth in a partner than men. You may find that to be disgusting or impossible, but I'd certainly find it to be beautiful. I'd be lying if I said I didn't.

I'm not targeting you or anything, but yeah, there are plenty of women who aren't like that; I'd go far enough to even say that MOST women I know don't think like that at all. I'd definitely feel like I wasn't contributing to the family if I didn't work or made less money to my hypothetical husband. (Yeah yeah, "go back to the kitchen and make me a sandwich.")

The point is a family works on roles. Together it makes a machine that successfully runs.
Either you have people that don't like their role, want a different role, don't have a role, incapable or unwilling to assume their role, or they have too many roles to be efficient.
In the old days I'm saying it more or less worked. And you had work at It to make it work. And without all this freedom of choice and independence there wasn't much to do except work to make it work. Now we have so much that's it's not working.
I'm not saying you have to be "traditional" I'm saying there needs to be a clear clean set of roles filled by each person.
By your example of stay at home dad: unless you strike it rich with your partner your quality of life more or less will be mediocre at best to borderline poor. Paycheck to paycheck. Most families have average jobs and require two people to sustain a better than average quality of life. If you want to be stay at home, that might fill the house role but it doesn't fill the financial role. Or you may be stay at home but you long to be doing something else.
The Lara croft comment was made to signal men desire too much out of women. You want them to make a good home, yet you want them to bring money to the table. You want traditionalism yet you want them to be asskickers. You want gracefulness in the street yet freaks in the bed. It's contradiction that can't be efficiently realized. Don't make my comments out to be what they aren't.
At the same time we want men to be handy around the house yet we want thhm to be out in successfull well respected jobs. We want them to pay attention to thier wives and children yet we always have stipulations . We want them to be at home more often yet we want them out working hard. Wewant them to provide for the family yet we want to provide for ourselves.
I said people need to have roles, and even at that be committed and satisfied to their role. I didn't tell them WHAT their roles should be. Please don't misconstrue my words.
Again if roles can be filled independently by one person, that screws with the formula for successful relationships which is a large part of why people are messed up/unhappy.
If you mean to be giving specific positions to have steady control for things to be smooth, then that's okay. But there doesn't have to be roles based on gender. People are always gonna want more than they can have and end up having to adjust and "deal with it". Life sucks that way, but I guess it has to. Kinda like how we can't all be successful in a major college degree with a high paying job in medical, technological, and law degrees. We need farmers and janitors just as much.
Of course the roles HAVE to be based on the gender because the woman is the only part that can bear/raise healthy children and the man is the only part that can successfully run the society(based on starting businesses,bequeath it to the eldest son,etc... matrialistic societies were never able to establish a successful,long lasting social structure to begin with)+ invented most technology/fought all major wars/etc...

We are not Seahorses where the females only lay the eggs and the males have to incubate them but human beings where the males organize weaponry/food/tools and the females raise children/produce clothing/clean/cook, I don't see the general problem (I just think that's the side effect of giving in to womens demands too much, like the proverb tells: give the devil your little finger and he'll snatch your whole arm)
