2ch has made its final pick of the anime of 2009, and the list provided seems unlikely to provoke much opposition.
The “let’s pick the top 5 anime of 2009” ranking (with an additional 5 anime to bring it up to the obligatory 10), along with the votes each received:

This list would be perfect if Darker than Black 2 was number 1. Bakemongatari is very good to still, i just think DTB deserves the higher spot. This vote my have been very different had it taken place after DTB ep 9 aired.
It's good but definitely not better than Eden. I'm very surprised DB2 got that high.

I prefer purposeful series with meaningful themes, as well as great animation and great attention to story. Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 is definitely worthy of this feat, if you can call it one.
Just because it didn't get much publicity, doesn't mean it's very good.
Seeing the special series like this and Dennou Coil (from way back)... I wish other people would at least pay more attention to them.
I remember seeing just one episode of Dennou Coil. And the one thing that especially struck me was the high quality of the animation.
It was done with the best quality animation and story and planning, and the budget was huge, with no shortcuts, like we commonly see in anime.
The animation is almost always moving, even in calm scenes.
Add in a unique balance of realistic comedy, a great cast of characters, deep hidden themes, human relationships, and so much more and you're set to go. =3
Saki and K-On! being above Higashi no Eden is questionable but not unexpected. This list is good. (._.)b
Im not sure if I'd call it good so much as accurate. Saki would get much lower if not for that pink haired tit thing. The only real thing it has going for it is loli. Taco loli.
of course saki isnt good without Nodochi.. Its like saying eating hamburger without the burger.

Higashi no Eden is purely for girls? It's a series that deals with guns and murder and terrorism and 20,000 naked NEETs and otaku and real estate and crazy digital cell phones with insane amounts of money on them and rapists and a lady who wears no more than lingerie and murders rapists and a big fat NEET named "pantsu/panties" and... and... yeah. >.>
I think it's more of an interesting mystery series that has some very male-centered AND female-centered twists to appeal to both genders in crazy ways.
Besides, I've never seen an anime that used such a complicated, worldly, intriguing plot as Higashi no Eden...

If 2ch wasn't so much into moe, loli & tsundere, HnE could easyly take some place higher.

Darker Than Black2 is about all I'm watching lately. I think it's more interesting than the first season.

Depends on the preferences. I find both seasons nearly equally awesome, though I'd give S1 an advantage of ~0,5.
The title is Pinker than loli, thats why is a bit more popular
