Failed Woman Drivers

The common stereotype that woman drivers are less capable than their male counterparts probably persists thanks to the existence of images like these:

Hard to believe that you could actually forget to pull the pump out of the tank before you drive off. Even harder to believe that the pump would break off the station after you drive off.
Wouldn't you notice an extremely loud grating sound as you drive?

In Norway, a woman managed to hit a girl riding across the street on her bike. She was stuck under the car for her entire 2 hour drive and the woman said that she never noticed.

All women should have their licenses rewoked, and they should only be allowed to get it back after completing the driver's exam again. And this time, their supervisor has to be gay.

Corruption and bribery are widespread in Russia.
    Nothing new in that.
Back to main topic. Women are usually good and careful drivers, but when they fail, it can become to something spectacular.

    * No body-protective gear (can you say, "road-rash"?). The same risk/penalty applies to guys riding motorcycles wearing jeans and t-shirts and tennis shoes.

    * If she needs to put her foot down for balance while the bike is trying to go out-of-control (crash situation), that spike heel will snap off, or it will catch and break (break off?) her ankle/foot.

Bonus note: if you're not wearing full-body leathers, you should have sturdy boots, and jeans tucked inside the boots (so they don't catch in machinery).

Not only the heels, but her entire attire is not suitable for riding a motorcycle.

yeah, people who rides bike should wear leather coat and pants in case they fell, it won't protect them from the impact but will protect them from having their skin scratched on the asphalt, not very pretty, got tons of friends riding on motorcycle, toke only one bad experience to teach them. Boots and helmets are obviously common sense.

    Ask your local driving school.

She has wrong kind of shoes, which can be risky when driving a MC. Bad control of pedals and so on.
And her other clothing is not enough for protecting her if accident happens.

Ya cops are notorious for taking bribes in Russia, but so are the Judges and every other official. Usually a cop knows when someone has sufficiently bribed their way or are connected they usually just warn the rich and well connected.

I can second that from firsthand experience.

It's so widespread, in fact, that it's simply the norm there. "That's just how it works". Some people who live there even argue it's better that way.

And before we civilized westerners get on our high horses, ask yourself whether it's really that different over here.

After all, what is "getting out on bail" if not officially sanctioned and legalized bribery? You have the money? Sure, you can get out till the next hearing. Don't have the money? In the holding cell you go.

How about some generous "donations" getting you better treatment or a bump in the waiting list in schools, colleges, and even hospitals?

And don't even get me started on political lobbying...

Hm. Responds to the problems in other countries with criticism of America, wonders aloud what's so wrong with a system of unofficially sanctioned bribery, makes mouth-noises about political lobbying being bad whilst making excuses for corruption...

You are the finest example of a Democrat I have ever seen.

But... I'm not a "Democrat", whatever that's even supposed to mean.

Nor am I in a habit of identifying myself with some group, adopting their opinions, and consequently developing an emotional attachment to defending their stance.

Instead, I simply have opinions. Sometimes they will happen to coincide with those of a particular group of people. And other times they'll coincide with some other group. Or not at all. Either way is fine by me.

You should try it some time. It's quite liberating. Plus you get to think for yourself, as an added bonus. Limited time offer. Only while supply lasts.

And, by the way, I wasn't defending corruption. At all. Nor was I bashing America (or the United States). Both bail and lobbying are concepts that are quite widespread in the western world as a whole.

My point was that it might be a good idea to clean our own pigsty before gloating over someone else's mess.

    Edit:

Hell, I didn't even go that far. Gloat over their mess all you like. There's every reason to. Just don't forget about your own while you're at it.

You seem to not understand the concept of being released on bail if you are comparing it to a bribe to a cop that lets said briber go free.

Google basic concepts before trying to discus complex political and moral concepts.

Of course they don't just get to walk free if they post bail. That was never implied (in fact I explicitly said "till the next hearing").

The point of the comparison is that such a system permits legal privileges to those who have enough money/capital. And that, in turn, is one of the main reasons bribery is considered bad.

Ideally, the law should treat everyone equally. It doesn't in this scenario.

I agree with Splat here. Most legal systems equate money to power to one degree or another. When stuff like bribes becomes commonplace, people start to call this corruption. It's above my head to call things right or wrong, but realizing that the same sort of thing is expressed in different ways all over the place is important if you want to make judgments on anything like this.

I also find #2 inexplicably funny.

Yes it can be interesting to discuss this politically, but can you please get your asses from here? No politics in Sankaku in heavy doses.
I recommend YouTube`s Michael Moore threads, in lobbying & bribery ones. Both conservatives and liberals can continue to yell to each other there.

Neither am I. And I never said anything about the US. I was talking about western society versus eastern society. Western Europe versus Russia, to be precise. And this was relevant to the article/thread due to the bribery image/topic.

I'm not sure why Anon (or you, for that matter) brought the US into the picture.

No politics in Sankaku in heavy doses [...] This is a site for mainly Otaku interests

    I beg to differ.

There are all sorts of people here, for all sorts of reasons and with all sorts of interests.

We've had some very nice and lively discussions on politics and any number of other serious topics here. It's only relatively recently that comments have taken a heavier tendency towards the mundane. And I, for one, would like to see more of "the old Sankaku".

If you don't like serious topics, feel free to avoid them. They're quite easy to spot by the length of posts, after all. But don't go telling people they can't talk about something just because you're not interested in seeing that kind of discussion. That's rather adolescent, no?

I do like serious topics, but not in this kind of sites. Some minor political remarks are of course okay, but this is not the right place to drive campaigns. And i am NOT some right-wing bigot myself.
I don`t mean to silence U.S. politics here, this goes for other countries too.
If moderators in Sankaku think otherwise, they can tell it to us all.
If i`m wrong, i will take back what i have said of this.
One thing: i should not write "get your asses from here." It was too harsh language for this issue.
