One magazine’s estimation of what the most shocking anime news of 2009 was makes for some interesting reading, with all manner of upsets evident.
The ranking runs as follows:
2. Bakemonogatari crushes K-ON!
3. Evangelion gets yet another movie
4. Summer Wars a big hit
6. Endless Eight repeated eight times, fans revolt
7. Toradora gets simultaneous novel/anime ending
8. Sora no Otoshimono pantsu take flight
9. Gegege no Kitaro suddenly canned
10. Seiyuu Yuu Kobayashi’s fantastic art broadcast on TV
In case you were wondering about the fine art in question:
#6: Well DUH! If it was shown nine times, would it be called the Endless “EIGHT”?!
Personally I think “Koreans Baw Over Hetalia” was one of the biggest news headlines and am surprised to not see it on the list. Think what you will about Hetalia, but how many other anime have had their TV run cancelled because Korea got butthurt?
Hm, it wasn’t there because “baw” is not really an official word.
You’re right, it’s properly spelled with at least 5 w’s.
hehe
saw those art at some episode of nyan koi
I don’t know why people liked Bakemonogatari so much 🙂
I did because of Hanekawa-sama. Blame her fancy pantyshot in the first episode… :3
“3. Evangelion gets yet another movie”
Is that really shocking? Gainax has been milking eva for a long time now and I wouldn’t be surprised if there are 10 more retellings. =/
