K-ONification

Previously it was noted that with the success of moe blob anime K-ON! even titles such as Haruhi were losing their characteristic style in favour of something approximating the evident marketability of Mio and company, but this trend seems to be intensifying, with the above comparison demonstrating the creeping K-ONification of two other titles…
Improvement or degradation?

Degradation. If I wanted all my anime to look the same I'd go hire some popular twats from Deviantart.
Fuck this shit.
Moe has ruined anime.
I WANT MY HARUHI BACK.
The first season of Haruhi was FULL of shameless moe, what's your point?
gunslinger girl season 1 + k-on = Il Teatrino
i just started watching so called "moe" anime so i cant get enoug of it but imo lucky star, K-On and haruhi only good moes
K-on could very well be the worst thing to happen to anime of recent times, possibly ever.
Wait, what?
Lucky Star finished way before K-On even started, right? How could they have moefied it?
Hey, but kyoani doesn't even animate sora no woto (the last one), right?
stay tuned January 2010.
Haruhi and Lucky Star already were two steaming piles of boring moe crap, who cares how their godawfully boring characters look like.
seems more like a change of artist and pplz are going overboard about it
You forgot to mention Seiken no Blacksmith. The K-ON!-esque designs of the girls were such a put off, made worse by the presence of Cecily in the anime.
Lucky star always looked like that.
degration but improvement in the moe dept.
This is just plain degradation of quality. I enjoyed watching K-ON! but to apply it to everything is just....... I don't know what to call it.
The sudden influx of moeblobs is one of the reasons that it's hard for me to get into anime anymore. Everything seems to look so similar that nothing catches my eye at all.
Moe has been gradually disintegrating anime for years. K-ON isn't the cause of moeification, it's the result.
degradation...some anime's just aren't meant for moe. They're made for the story and for the minds of people who actually have them.
Umm, wasn't LS moe to begin with?
Actually, wasn't LS WAY more moe than k-on to begin with?
btw, who's that character at the bottom?
I like the original art more. Not that I'm against k-onification.
I want to see a moe version of Witchblade.
Whatever suit your tastes. I like them both.
This reminds me of the Supermanification of Batman...
Degradation definitely.
Just look at the after pictures for Haruhi and the last anime, they look like they have down syndrome.
the way to tell if it's been k-onified is if they're mouths are open :0
I think couple of those transitions with K-on's moeblobness
feeling like overall this was just shits and giggles
so kudos
is like in railgun, desgins are way moefied from index, kuroko most of the time have 2 heads and a half in prportion to the body, at least they are subtle changes, not like the change in saber marionette x to saber marionette x to j
I know studio art changes over time, but...man. Go look at some of the really stylized and beautiful scenes from AIR from a few years ago and then relook these over. It's almost painful. I'm not saying the K-On style is terrible or anything, for that show it's cute and suitable, but to apply it to all their stuff? I hope to God this doesn't catch on too much.
Then again, Air is by FAR KyoAni's best piece of work (visually) so far.
That Lucky Star image is terrible. Everyone looks so cross eyed and off from the original design.
All I have to say after looking at these pictures is: is that really Haruhi in the second picture, and if so why? Why would anyone do that?
Ugh; K-ON'd Haruhi is all baby-faced. That doesn't work; she's actually quite developed.
I think this is my only irritation with this art style. Haruhi's character just seems to match the old art better. Mikuru doesn't look too bad, but then again she's also really cute and quiet. Haruhi's just so loud and dominate, the sharper and less rounded design just seems to fit better.
after all Kyoani turned into the EA of anime
kyo ani is worse than EA. They mass troll people unlike EA.
they do the same shit, is like dragon age:origins that had dlcfrom day one, thats just major troll.
K-ON copied Lucky Star's style you fools.
Wow, So・Ra・No・Wo・To's original designs are drawn by the same artist who did Roronoa.. Damn.
Oh well, still going to look forward for it. There's a Meganekko Mugi in there :3
i think everyone is being a little to serious its not like were looking at animation shots its some cover art for magazines and the like. its not that i dont care about what it looks like but what it looks like dosnt change what its about
K-on has an interesting style, but I miss the old KyoAni... :'(
Too much degradation...
Otakus conclusion: Degradation, theme close xD
This is because most animation studios have shipped their labor to China and Korea.
Problem is, these people can't create anything original, only produce poor copies of mediocre source material.
I can't tell the difference!
What have they done to my Haruhi? They all look like noseless blobs! ;_; What's so special about K-On's style anyway?
Not a big difference, but I prefer the originals. The last comparison isn't fair by any means, though it looks great both before and after.
Inb4 K-ON Geass
This is exactly why I loathe K-ON...
The original to Sora no Wo To is way cuter than the K-Onified version
Forced moe is forced.
I liked K-ON moe art; however, I don't want other anime to get keionificated. I'm not defying moe art. I just want to see different moe styles and not just a standardized one.
