I finally were able to see 3d, but it got me dissapointed. Not worth the trouble. The classic stereograms (where you see 3d shapes over some nonsense drawings) is much easier and impresive.
You won't see real 3D in this image if you do crossed eyes. This one is designed for parallel eyes. Which is more difficult, but creates more 3D effect.
yea what you do is have the right eye see the right image and the left see the left one. So from that you understand that too big of a image will not work unless you sit very far. Unless your eyes can slit like ()

lso, don't be TOO close to your screen, back up a bit. And pro-tip: trying doing it with your head tilted back a bit and looking through the space between your 2 nose-sides that are in your vision.. easier to go cross-eyed that way.
Whoaaaaa!!! I finally got it. Moving back a few feet was the key.
The key:
1 head up a bit, so your eyes won't be too tired while doing cross eye.
2 it's better to make your nose pointing at the boundary of two pictures, this is also helps your eyes relax.
3 don't be too close to the screen, a distance about 4-5 hands is enough, if you get too close, you'll receive a headache after watching a dozen of stereograms.
4 when your're doing cross eye, normally the two pictures would become four, and your task is to make them become three (which means two of them become one) through adjusting your eyeballs. when two of them become one at the middle, that's where 3D emerges.

Try practicing with two fingers and do a cross eye.
When you normally cross eye and look at two fingers, you somehow see four fingers total, but in stereograms the concept is two make two fingers look like three instead of four while doing a cross eye, it's like combining your two fingers into one image between them..
So that's kinda an idea for you.. I don't know how other people do it...

Oh, so it turns out that I have been doing it right, it still doesn't seem to 3D for me though.
ZOMG I FINALLY GOT IT! YOU ARE THE EXPLANATION KING!
In the previous gallery, I was able to see all the images a good three feet away from my 15' moniter. The trick is not to look at the full sized images though. The larger an image is the harder it is to work with. So to be able to do this its easier working with smaller images. But you can alternatively just look from further away, which is essentially the same as making the image look smaller in this case.
They are so close to merging for me but It never quite gets there.. even when im real close.
I will do a regular sterogram with a hidden image, switch tabs while keeping the same vision, and i still can't see this double image thing.
what is a good distance from the screen? and should i keep my head centered?
