Haruhi Movie 150 Minutes Long

Haruhi’s remaining deluded minions have reacted with surprise and some delight at the news that the upcoming “Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya” movie adaptation will clock in at 150 minutes, far longer than anyone anticipated.
At two and a half hours the movie appears to be the rough equivalent of 8 episodes (perhaps an unfortunate choice of number), presumably more than long enough to cover the events of the novel – indeed, there is already some speculation that the novel may not have enough material to sustain the film fully, suggesting additional material or novels will be involved.
It remains to be seen just whether this turns out to be an epic finale to the TV series, or an excessively drawn out death rattle as the franchise finally expires…

I'm hoping the movie will redeem the series for its endless eight fiasco.
150 minutes is not roughly 8 episodes by any standards. That's just there to rile people up.
Roughly 20 minutes of actual content per episode, times 8 is 160 minutes though?
considering every episode is minimum of approx 22 minutes, the movie is about 7 episodes long AT MOST
Dude, split hairs much? The original 'Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu' arc was only SIX episodes long and no-one complained THAT was too short. This is going to be (potentially) awesome.

The reason people are saying that this is too long is because Disappearance is the shortest book.
It's only worth like five episodes. This is gonna be... interesting.

Fresh from the money pouring into kyutard from thousands of utter fucking moronic otaatards, they've now enacted a new Brand NU Ass reaming with this new movie where they'll be further experimenting by showing the audience over FIFTY minutes of slooooooow camera tracking over a generic city while injecting a few characters talking about stuff.. random stuff.
What little remains of it will cover the Actual story and wrapping it all up TWENTY minutes before the end because you can't end with that. No, kyutard will then show the characters wander around the school.. wander around the city.. wander around the city some more.. wander around the houses they live in.. prepare for sleep......
The. FUCKing. end.

What they don't mention is that the movie actually consists of a 15 minute lead-in, a 15 minute lead-out, and in between, the same 20 minutes over and over again with subtle variations.

Haruhi Suzumiya is still better than 100% of the other anime released in the past season.
Eight of the same episode in a row is still better than entire series' runs as of late.
I wish people would stop complaining about endless eight. We got our second season. So be happy that you got anything, also, Endless 8 was probably made to test out the Haruhi fanbase AND so that we feel Yuki's pain... We COMPLAIN so much and alot of previous fans hate Haruhi now because of it. Yuki went through it how many THOUSAND times?? How would you like to be Yuki? So DON'T complain.
Haruhi is an amazing anime and light novel series and I hope Kyoani does a big hit with the adaption of the beat Haruhi book so far, and return Haruhi to her fame and glory.

The Melancholy of Nagato Yuki would be extremely boring if all she does is watch Haruhi....report telepathically, Watch Haruhi, Act subtly like a human(eat, sleep for a few hours, stare blankly into space), go to school, watch haruhi, i wonder if she showers?, go to class(while still watching haruhi), go to clubroom, watch haruhi, read book while watching haruhi, watch haruhi and kyon, go home.

They're most likely going to slide in the first and last endless eight episodes before transitioning to the Disappearance story. This is going to be an interesting movie.
After this 150 minutes-thing I am somehow starting get more doubtful about them seriously going through with it, and now it smells more troll than before.
But regardless, if the movie is real, then I will enjoy watching it. If it's not I will suffer half a million butthurt fanboys whining. I guess it is a win-win situation.
Those who are seriously getting their hopes up too much after this almost deserve to be trolled.
Reverse psychology is not an effective way to market things.
At least, it's not moral enough by the justice system and SOMEONE would be getting fired for it.
So it's not a smart decision.
I expect them to pay up front for Endless Eight with this.

I think Kadokawa could redeem themselves a bit if what you said was true. But who knows? Maybe the amount of dvds solds determines what's on the movie and how effectively it will be played out, both quality and animation wise. Although I'd rather have a high quality driven plot over beautiful animation quality any day!

Can it be endless eight again? Others eight times.
Despite all the Endless Eight scandals, my hopes have still risen to believe that this time there will be no trolling in this movie. However, 150mins of the same ep over and over again in ANY movie will truly disappoint me and make the 1st Endless Eight look like a goddess. Kadokawa, please no nice boat this time! If you do, the Haruhi fanbase will lose more of its supporters, having perhaps even a fewer left of those "remaining deluded minions," and even I will be sad to say that I was once part of the former glory of what was a most epic anime.
