Final Fantasy Games aren't new to those kinds of Rankings, they'll always be there when you need something to cry over, storywise and etc.

FFX was a tearjerker? Bs!

I thought Suikoden 2's was more sad and unexpected than FFVII's. Though I suppose Suikoden 2's was undone if you got the good end.

FFX pissed me off more jerking out my tears. The level-up system sucks.

It's an embarrassing admission to make, but the significant omission from this list, to me, is the first Metal Gear Solid.

Kojima's played his hand since then, and the later ones don't get me. But the Alaskan desolation of the original, the perfect theme, and the fact that by the end you feel just as betrayed as the guys you just killed did not go unnoticed.

I didn't necessarily make me cry, but it left it's mark, al the same.

ffvii should be first. seriously. gamers were crying nearly every turning point. fanboys all over the world forgot their masculinity completely and cried rivers when aerith died. SERIOUSLY.

I agree with everything.. but FFX? hmm.... Yeah there were sad parts, but my eyes didn't even get watery... and it being number one? huh? well it'll be clearer if this list isn't arranged in order..

EarthBound's ending wasn't so much a tearjerker as it was... well... disturbing.

Now Mother 3, THAT had a tearjerker ending. I'll admit it: I bawled like a freakin' baby. (Okay, that's exaggerating a bit, but you understand my meaning.)

Although Clannad is obvious because of its popularity I didn't cry near as much as I did playing Crescendo, especially when I played the hidden story you get after you play through each story-arc for the main characters.

A theatrical must play for anyone who enjoyed Kana.
