Famous K-ON! goods maker Fender has announced an Evangelion collaboration, with Ayanami Rei themed ita-guitars set for release.
The guitars, both featuring Ayanami Rei, are set for auction on the 1st of December, with a high price looking likely thanks to the notoriously indiscriminate purchasing patterns of hardcore otaku – Fender in particular have benefited from the position their products enjoy in moe blob hit K-ON!.
Fans will doubtless be wondering where their Asuka is…

I would say things you buy to supply you with the bottom tier are most likely needs. Although you could then argue that it's possible to supply those needs without using money.

What are you guys stupid? Strats and Teles are totally metal. Iron Maiden plays all Fenders, Strats. The Rhythm guitarist in Slipknot plays a Tele. And Kirk Hammett loves Strats, why do you think his KH series from ESP are Strat look-alikes, not to mention he also has a plexiglass Tele he uses as well. Kids like you who think ESP and EMG = Metal are exactly why so much crappy metal is coming out now. Oh, and Alder? Really? That's cheap wood companies use in lower-end guitars. Mahogany with Ebony fretboards baby.
yeah the fretboard wins.....too bad the rest is pretty lame.....but then again these types of customizations aren't really known for being subtle and classy.

These guitars are just horrible, save for the fretboard.
Indeed the fretboard is awesome, especially seeing as it looks like its inlaid into the board, not just some sticker overlay. Too bad everything else pales in comparison...and Rei's eye creeps me out.
FENDER DOES NOT USE STICKERS ON FRETBOARDS. What are you thinking? You can always get everything painted over, except the neck, if paintjob on guitar body does not suit your tastes. If you want to paint the guitar body yourself, dont forget to unmount all hardware & neck and mask all the openings before you get loose with spray paint.
