X-Men East vs West

I totally agree, Marvel and the Xmen are legendary because they are what they are so why bothering converting it into a weird shoujo anyway ?

Sort of agree, there is no need to clone X-Men into manga, much less change everything, this, like the DBZ movie is a big case of "why bother if you are going to change everything.

But while I'm against these kinds of adaptations I agree that I'd rather read this manga than the original X-Men comic.

Manga-styled artists has made X-men comics before. I recall a manga-styled X-men rendition done by someone named Warrior Ohashi, and it's a manga for all functions and purposes.

But yeah, shojo X-men is weeeeird. There are BL pairings in the 'canon' timeline of X-men, but IINM they are more or less implied and not shown off. Not to mention that not all X-guys are Bishie qualified... Bishie Wolvie and Bishie Nightcrawler will be beyond weird.

Seriously the art looks like some WANNABE and draw by an American imitating Manga style, it sux.
Even if the artist is Japanese, he/she is probably Japanese-American which makes him/her American.

Its a another side of the X-men story that people would maybe get into I do agree that making it into a shoujo series will be hard to make people buy unless women would buy this.

IMO both versions suck. The western - no matter how many movies with hairy machos Hollywood will spit out, guys in latex suits will never look good. And the eastern - well just look at the cover :P

I prefer the western because of the action and the deep but a little confusing story. I always preferred manga over comics, but in this case, *bleckhh* WTF were they thinking!? Why'd they turn it into a shoujo manga??? Why not a shonen? It'd be much better if it was a shonen.....but if it was made into a shonen, we'd have to worry because some of the charas might be moe

Why are you calling them anime characters anyway? But I have to agree with Van-d-all: Wester superheroes are by far not as varied and interesting as Eastern creations. I know arguing that their respective Western storylines are good is quite possible, but that doesn't change the fact that they're all based on having super powers. The Western comic market seems to be stuck in that.

Ninsheart - Not all western superheros have superpowers. And for those who do, some of them aren't even all that super.

Whatever disney does, it'll still be better than most manga. I like me some j-culture as much as the next guy, but most manga are extremely bad, and getting worse every year. Thing is manga and anime were always divided into extremes; the few that aren't horrible are usually extremely good, like the classics we all know and love...
Dysney and western entertainment, on the other hand, have progressed exponentially; over the last 20 years we shifted from kids comics and cartoons to Sandman, Avatar, The Incredibles, Invincible, Wall-e, Fables & Civil War...
