Japan’s Sex Gap: 25% Now “Middle-Aged Virgins”

“Middle-aged virgins,” men whose only sexual activity is onanism, are being highlighted as a major problem in Japanese society, with their numbers burgeoning even as youthful sexual activity increases, creating a “sexual bipolarisation.”
Some data indicates as many as 24.3% of males aged 30-35 are virgins, a statistic which seems to have been worsening, and these men are overwhelmingly poor, leading some to suggest female expectations play a role.
It seems that although the average age of a Japanese person’s sexual experience continues to decrease, at the same time a “sex divide” is ensuring some men remain isolated from the company of women, writes economist and author Takashi Kadokura.
Typically, sexual encounters at school are said to be ones where the female takes no great interest in income or prospects, but once into college and the workplace Japanese women suddenly become much more concerned about a partner’s potential as a source of income, the so-called “three highs”: high height, high academic qualifications, and high income.
A small-scale survey supports this notion: 73.9% of those with annual incomes of less than $20,000 had no partners, whilst only 33.3% of men with incomes of from $90-120,000 lacked partners.
The same survey suggested these poorer men could or would not use prostitutes; 85.5% of the below $20,000 group had never used a brothel, whilst only 37% of men with incomes from $90,000 to $120,000 had never visited such an establishment, itself a rather disturbing figure.
These poorer men are increasingly freeters and NEETs, and with their incomes generally remaining low throughout their lives, rather than peaking in their 40s and 50s as with regular salarymen, Japan may be forming a virgin underclass whose only access to sex and female companionship is through AV and ero-manga.
On the other hand, one of the many such surveys of single women found that the “cut-off line” for marriage for 46% of women was $40,000 a year, with 29% demanding $60,000.
However, 2007 government statistics indicated there are only 2,544,900 employed bachelor men with incomes over $40,000 in the whole country, meaning millions of “excess” women are present hunting for the tiny number of high-income men they consider eligible, whilst the rest are left with only the prospect of fantasies.
The obvious inference is that the major reason the poorer, average men are unable to find partners is because Japanese women are busy chasing dreams of wedding the handful of men with high incomes…

But I don't get it, wasnt the feminist movement supposed to free and empower women to make their own income to help support their families, or to even intentionally avoid marriage altogether? This isn't only a problem in Japan, girls/women these days have been set back 50s years all over, even in the US. Teen girls even, I just saw a special on tv about it, are trying far harder than they ever have in the past 100 years to be as sexy and appealing to guys as much as possible, so that they can be accepted by society to have found a guy that will be able to provide for them. Meaning... most women still seem to grow up to be gold diggers. All the sexy girls are dumbass gold diggers, and all the rest are the ones who used the feminist movement to their advantage and don't really need a guy.
What is love? I don't know, I don't think anyone knows anymore, but we could all sure use some of it. Heck, you'd be hard pressed to even find a hint of romanticism in any form in the media these days. For these generations, the moon is just a big cold rock, the stars don't exist outside of floodlights and tabloids, and flowers have been replaced with big dirty diamonds (probably drenched in some blood of african men... ones with big cocks).
Love is being helpful to someone. Love is sharing someone else's needs with your own. Love is accepting someone for their faults, even if you don't agree with them. Love is encouragement and sacrifice. Love is honesty. Love is being in harmony with someone else.
Women don't date NEETs or otaku because the NEETs and otaku don't demonstrate (the key word here) that they can actually fulfill any of these ideas. Although they may BELIEVE in those ideas, if they lack the confidence to demonstrate the strength to do these things, no woman will be attracted to them. That is why women will be attracted to dumbasses and fuck-offs ~ even if they're shithead motherfucks, they demonstrate the capacity to love (even if it's all a visage to lay the women).
Most women really want to take a nice guy over an asshole if both are capable of love. But they won't at all go after a nice guy who doesn't demonstrate an ability to love. And it's understandable, considering everyone wants to be with someone that you can enjoy your time and company with. If you can't show them you're enjoyable/fun/exciting, why would they want to go out with you? If you can't offer them companionship and you come across as unconfident, unexciting, and just filled with lofty ideals, women will always turn away.
Money is just a correlation to people who are confident and demonstrate ability. Women chase after the personality first, even though it usually ends in disappointment. Most of the people who "talk the talk" don't walk the walk. And sadly, the people who are more than willing to "walk the walk" (the otaku) can't "talk the talk." If the otaku learned how to "talk the talk", then things would start looking up. If women learned to see past the exterior personality and see people for who they truly are, then things would start looking up. Instead, everyone is winding up bitter because they're looking in all the wrong places and just assume the opposite sex is fucked up in their thinking. It is indeed a vicious cycle.

I know the answer, it's not some kind of magic you feel, it's definable, it's just that love has a long definition (more than even what you said), thus the need for the 4 lettered word, lol.
I asked it to say "who know's what love is anymore?" i mean to say, I feel it's too rare these days. In a way, it's almost non-existant in relationship. That's why there's so many screwed up kids, marriages without love in them will do that. Maybe things have always been this way, but at least there was a time when love was something promoted and bought into. That people of all ages could be interested in and happy to see, on tv, in movies, in books, in stories.
Sex is just another drug without love, although probably the healthiest one you can have. Lust is not love. For me, lust is when you want it, love is when you need it. Wants & Necessities. You've gotta make that urge for a lollypop into an urge for a well cooked meal that will benefit you beyond just a sweet taste.
As for the NEETs not being able to draw women. I think it's both ways really. NEETs can maybe be turned off by real women seeing the way they go so easily after dumbasses and fuck-offs, just as women might be turned off by them being such recluses. Either way, one side has to give. If only one side could give the other a chance, but they need to see past the stereotypes first. All humans are capable of loving. We just need to hope everyone finds someone that clicks with them. The more people that can click for the long term, the better it is for society. If all we're getting is NEETs here and failing relationships there, things need to change.
Maybe all women should really just go ahead and give the 25% guys a chance. lol! Forget about finance. I think these "poor virgin's" are better off than they know. Sure, they may be a bit lonely some nights but there's lots of worse things a person could be forced to endure. it all depends on what kinda kids you raise. if you know you're gonna suck at raising children then don't take the risk and create some hellspawn.
