This is kind of ironic that a topic like this would arise. I am 21 and black/dominican and about a week ago for the first time ever in my life, someone admitted to me that they were racist.My associate's friend admitted that he was racist against black people. this is the first time I came in contact with some one who openly admitted that they were racist and initially I did not become upset until I heard his reason. Now I'am not one of those blk guys that perpetuate's negative stereotypes nor a "uncle tom" I'am just a human being.I dont identify people by race but rather as a human being, as I would expect from them but thats not always the case. I detest ignorance, but I realize that it exist and I alone cant stop it, but the guys reason is that from his personal experiences black people are ignorant,he gave an example that if you walk down the street minding your own business and see a group of black guys then they will try to pick a fight with you or talk crap to you, but if it's some white guys then they wont bother you...well as we can all see this article states otherwise.Now I can't blame the guy for observing something like that since it is predominant in different races and different area's but to say that a entire race is that way? Come on, thats a bit unrealistic. As an Australian, I know about our past, just like I know about the past of many nations, be it America, Japan, or Germany.

I know many of these nations did some wrong in the past, but I don't hold it against them.

In Australia, where I come from, none of us are racist, and I mean that. (I live in Adelaide btw)

Now, the eastern suburbs of Sydney is a very racist place, see the Crunalla Riots for example, and that's a big part of the population. Sydney is HUGE.

Mind you, drunk people here are as common as Kangaroo's, but again, Eastern suburbs.

All in all, I take people as I see them, not as a whole. I get to know them, then make judgement, and so should you.
