More like buy PC for $800 dolars and spend at least 3 years playing games at far better quality than consoles. Then you upgrade your video card for ~$200 and you spend at least another 3 years with it.

Oh and that's just if you want to play at max settings. Right now most games that are recently released run comfortably on 5+ old video cards and CPUs.

Now the problem with PC is that games are almost exclusively released for Windows, so you may have to shell $50 for an OEM OS, unless you know how to acquire one without paying.

The only drawback of PC gaming there ever was, is that many great games are released on console only out of fear of piracy.
But then again, the same holds true the other way around if you like RTS/MMO/FPS games.

Anyway, there is no reason for fanboyish PC bashing. Consoles are an obsolete gaming model that should have ended with the age of PS2/Dreamcast. They have absolutely no advantage over a PC. If you think you are paying less than a brand new $800 PC by adding the cost of X-Box live and DLC (which is free on the PC), you are deluded.
Oh yeah, PCs don't go belly up in <1 year. My previous PC is currently 7+ years old and has been working almost daily for all this time.

The so called "NextGen" consoles have been largely obsolete for nearly 3 years compared to PCs. I fail to see what is so superior to them, unless you are too damn stupid to use one.

TEXASDUDE:
Looking at the screen shots and video.

- The PS3 used might not have its contrast / black levels set correctly. That alone can make both versions look much more similar.

- Some textures on the PS3 have a bit less detailed... but in movement, hard to tell the difference.

- But in the ViDEO clip, the PS3 has Anti-Aliasing, so I'm not seeing the JAGGIES that are easily visible on the 360 version. So perhaps this is causing some of the issues.

Personally, I'm okay with both versions, just calibrate the PS3 which can be done on the console end or the game itself.

Technically, the 360 has a bit more powerful ATI GPU over the PS3's nVidia version.

I'll wait for the pc version of this game, at least it shall be uncensor and have something better than the consoles.

Sega got lazy and didn't do it the way they should have. Nothing more, nothing less. Xbox360 can only win in the "Has so many FPS games you think it's a PC" department..

each to their own, ps3 has far more potential but as it stands 360 has a better catalog of titles. where the hell is gran turismo anyone? plus blu ray is a plus. if i were to get anyone one of these consoles which i won't by the way, i would get a ps3.

I prefer my 360 over PS3, but it's bullshit either console should get a worse port. Customers on "both sides" should get what they paid for, not sloppy-ass ports like this.

Should have gone the Sigma way: release it one year later with additional stuff and probably less gore and/or nudity.

Both PS3 owners and Sony itself would have been happier.

PS3 version has inferior textures, an unstable mess of a frame rate and suffers from censorship.

And yet it'll still outsell the 360 version (four copies worldwide compared to two, it's a Platinum Games title afterall, nobody gives a shit about anything they make - Okami, God Hand, MadWorld etc.)

If I bought this game for a "Castlevania Fetish Thrill" I think I will then buy it from the "X-box 360" bargain bin.

The only question is: "Will there be ANY X-360s available on the 'used' market or will they all expire via RROD?"

A PS3 at least, WORKS. My PS1 - WORKS. My PS2 - WORKS. Turn them on 10 years from now, they will all still WORK.

My V1 Xbox - Crashes right and left, ten times as often as my 486DX50 PC did when I tried to render movie screen sized images and browse the net at the same time on Win 3.1 or play "Die by the Sword" on a P200 with no good graphics card. Sometimes I have to fight with it to play a non scratched Music CD...

However, "Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath" is an incredible game so lush and beautiful I wish I could enter it. Even made me like the idea of Westerns which despite being in a 'Western' state I don't really like that genre that much. And "Elder Scrolls: Morrowind" is similarly enticing...

The issue is not so much the graphics as it is the god damn ANIMATION. IT's tearing EVERYWHERE, no vsync, horrible!
Even the FMVs and title screen (which i suspect is part fmv too) have tearing ffs!

I really don't have high hopes for this game. When the main character in a game is a sexy woman, it's usually a sign that the game sucks and that the game company is hoping that a bunch a kids will buy it for the fanservice and not care about the rest of the game. With a character that's as fanservicey as this it makes me feel that there is going to be a huge fatally flaw with this game.

People who argue 360 vs PS3, are just to poor to own both, and that is sad. Glad I'm rich. I would hate to have to buy used games, and stand in line with food stamps.
