Teacher Jailed for Lesbian Sex with Pupil

A teacher has been jailed for 16 months after repeatedly having sex with her 15-year-old female pupil.
The 26-year-old woman, a gifted musician and music teacher working at a private school in London, began a steamy romantic relationship with a 15-year-old girl she was teaching after the pair began meeting for coffee together.
The girl is said to have “pressured” the teacher into the five month relationship, which soon progressed to sex, with the girl and her teacher spending time in Paris together and with police finding a variety of sex toys at the teacher’s home, where the pair would often spend the night.
Throughout the relationship the girl continued to receive music lessons.
All this came to an end when police received an anonymous email tip that the teacher was intimately involved with her student, leading to her pleading guilty to 6 counts of sex with a child under the UK’s age of consent of 16.
The girl’s parents certainly did not approve of the special tutelage their “vulnerable” daughter was receiving:
“However, under the guise of helping her we now understand that for over five months she was betraying our trust and our daughter’s. She did not stay true to her professional responsibility.”
The judge in sentencing her was not entirely unsympathetic:
“This is a difficult case. The evidence showed you were having a full-on sexual relationship with the girl for many months.
She has made it clear that the sexual contact between you was consensual and she says in her statement that in fact it was instigated by her.
It is, of course, against the law to engage in sexual activity with a person under 16, even with her consent.”
This did not however stop him sentencing her to 16 months in prison and ordering that she be made a registered sex offender, though he did decline to issue a sexual offence prevention order against her.
The convicted serial child rapist’s defence maintains she is “not in any sense a sexual predator.”

Most of my teachers were ugly, embittered women -- I'm sure glad I didn't have to experience sex with them - it would have been an emotional trauma (and maybe physical, too -- they were large and heavy).
Then there was one male teacher whom the girls might have found physically attractive, but his oily personality would have cancelled that. He seemed a bit dodgy in his attitudes; as far as I know, he never did anything sexual to the students, but I and the rest of my classmates (both female and male) kept a wary eye on him.

I'm pretty sure men are thrown in prison for RAPING girls. This woman was blatantly NOT raping the girl. The girl said it was consensual.
If it was a male teacher he would have gone to jail for years and years and made a example of just for having a penis. Then raped and beatin' in jail for being a paedophile. She should get the same punishment a male teacher in her place should get. This is truly a slap on the wrist.
If you're talking about a male teacher getting harsher treatment, it's generally because he's the one who instigated. He gets punished more because he obviously took advantage of the student. In this case, the student came on to the teacher, so it's much different.
This is just sad. One year way from the legal age and she gets 16 months. If I was the judge, i would've sentenced her to jail time and not had her registered as a sex offender. These age of consent laws are stupid in almost all modern(MODERN!) countries. The differences between 15 and 16, or 17 and 18 are insignificant.
Whether or not a teenager can consent legally should be determined by their level of maturity. This seems pretty broad to be applied efficiently, but it's better than having innocent people sent to prison, especially when the teenager seduced them!

Technically if she was 16 it would still be illegal. If one of the two are in a 'position of trust' (e.g. teacher) then the minimum age is 18.
I like the way you think! Since there is no significant difference between 16 and 15, then 15 should be the AoC (Age of Consent). Then it won't be long before the fact that there is no signficant difference between 15 and 14, so the AoC will then be 14. And since there is no signficant difference between 14 and 13... and so on, and so on.
Until you get to the very young, there really isn't a "significant" difference between the mental capabilities and range of emotion between just a year. So we'd get AoC set at 4 in short order. Because there isn't much a difference between 4 and 5. But there is between 3 and 4.
Wow! That would really help out the lolicons, wouldn't it? And parents would be able to sexploit their children, starting at 4, because if they can consent to sex, they can consent to having their pictures taken for their parents own financial enrichment (and of course, so they can get some ice cream and a few nice things).
