“Perfect” Tales of Vesperia Sells 150,000 on First Day

The PS3 edition of loli pirate RPG Tales of Vesperia has sold the most units of any Tales game ever on its opening day, selling more than twice as many copies as the popular Xbox beta version, with an estimated total of 147,000.
The previous Tales games have generally done well, but never as well as this, especially considering the title was already released once.
The opening day sales of previous titles:
Tales of Innocence (DS – 76,000)
Tales of Symphonia (Wii – 120,000)
Tales of Vesperia β (Xbox 360 – 71,000)
Tales of Hearts (DS – 121,000)
Radiant Mythology 2 (PSP – 135,000)
Tales of VS (PSP – 89,000)
Tales of Vesperia (PS3 – 147,000)
The beta version has sold just shy of 200,000 units to date (in Japan), so it seems possible “Perfect ToV” may be able to double even that, which could make an impressive total of 600,000 when added to the not unimpressive Xbox figures…
The game, which comes highly recommended, is available now.

for doing...what exactly? clearing a game for release on their console when the developer decided to make a seemingly planned all along, according to recent dev comments, port it to the PS3 to make up for less than stellar sales on the 360, which according to recent dev comments was not a surprise (even expected) to Namco.
let me guess, you're referring to Sony "blackmailing" Namco into making this upgraded version to make the 360 version look bad?
While its true that Sony may have said they want new content, that really doesn't change the fact that the whole scheme was Namco's idea, and really, back to reality land. at least reality land to those who actually know anything about jrpg releases in japan.
Upgraded expanded versions aren't something thats unexpected. Actually it happens all the time. So the truth is, it was pretty darn likely that Namco would've had new content for the seemingly always planned PS3 version anyway. Blaming it on Sony blackmail is just a nice way to pacify the 360 fanboy ragings.

Yeah M$ really got a stranglehold on this with fallout 3. Also remember most of Sony's standalone titles jumped ship real quick to the 360. So what's so wrong for jumping back to PS3 when you know your product still won't sell well on the "ZOMG best console EVAR". Even-though that console broke down more then any other. You can't really blame the game companies for wanting more money so they can make more games, so if they backstab a company already loaded with money that's their choice. If they don't get paid we don't get games simple as that.

Also, Europe got the 360 version 10 months later.
ps3 is regionfree, so importing the NA wont be hard for the ps3 version, xbox 360....
